[NEWS] G-DRAGON & TAEYANG, Two YG Trainees Grown into Super Stars
G-Dragon and Taeyang. The two members of top boy band Big Bang, also top stars who hold world tour concerts, once had hard times too. For five years, a long or short period of time, the two shared joys and sorrows as YG Entertainment’s trainees. In those days, Taeyang and G-Dragon buried themselves into everyday training, wondering about and looking forward to what their future will be like. And now, in September 2013, the two are now fiercely competing with one another, as mentors of two teams of YG’s new trainees who are dreaming of debut as YG’s new boy band eight years after the debut of Big Bang.

Three tracks staying in top 10 places four weeks after the release of a new album is a very rare case nowadays, when the rankings in music charts always change with a flood of new songs released every day.

The allure of his eclecticism carries over into his music, which sometimes ends up taking a backseat in conversations about G-Dragon in the West, in favor of narratives surrounding his fashion sense.

[NEWS] G-DRAGON sets a new record by sweeping chart with 3 songs from 1 album
G-DRAGON topped SBS’s Inkigayo, a music program, with ‘WHO YOU?’ from his solo album. This means that whopping 3 songs from his latest album topped the charts in music programs.
On SBS’s Inkigayo aired on Sept 22, G-DRAGON seized the trophy that symbolized his victory.
[NEWS] G-DRAGON on WIN, “Seeing TAEYANG here makes me feel like we’re here as soccer coaches”
G-DRAGON, appearing on YG Entertainment’s survival program ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’, commented that being on the show with TAEYANG makes him feel like as though they are meeting as soccer coaches.
[NEWS] G-DRAGON on ‘WIN’ tells Team B, “Will treat you a nice meal if you win”
G-DRAGON, who is in charge of mentoring Team B, told the contestants that he will treat them with a nice meal if they win the battle against Team A.
G-DRAGON’s such comment was delivered to the contestants after the final rehearsal, to encourage Team B to win on ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’, YG Entertainment’s real survival program that was aired on Mnet on Sept 20.

[NEWS] G-Dragon and Taeyang coach Team A and B on 'WIN'
If you thought things couldn't get any more exciting with the YG v. JYP battle last week, guess again because Yang Hyun Suk cooked up another interesting battle for Team A and B by appointing Big Bang's G-Dragon and Taeyang as their coaches on the latest episode of 'WIN'!
On the September 20th broadcast of 'WIN', Taeyang was appointed as coach for Team A and G-Dragon for Team B. Both Big Bang members expressed their anticipation for the battle of pride with G-Dragon revealing that every time he would face off against Taeyang during their trainee days, he would always lose. Like Team A, G-Dragon was on a mission to win his trainee battle for the first time.

True to G-Dragon’s words at his “ONE OF A KIND WORLD TOUR” solo gig in Singapore earlier in June, the BIGBANG leader returned to our shores with his “brothers” yesterday, putting up an adrenaline-pumping concert at the Padang stage last night. Notably, it is also the second time the immensely popular K-Pop group has been invited to perform at the Singapore Grand Prix.
It has been some time since the five members of BIGBANG reunited on stage, and they surely did not disappoint with their high-energy performances.
To get a good glimpse of the boys, VIPs (BIGBANG’s official fanclub name) queued for hours under the glaring sun before the show kick-started at 11.15pm. It was heartening to know that the fans’ efforts did not go unnoticed as G-Dragon gave a shout-out during the concert, saying, “I know you guys waited for us since morning. We really appreciate it.”
The boys’ passion was clearly unaltered by the 80-minute performing time (which is significantly shorter than their usual concerts), as they ran around the extension stage throughout the show, trying to engage all fans standing at different sectors. Even when their hair and makeup were ruined by buckets of sweat, BIG BANG never once stopped the party.
Unlike most K-Pop groups who give out countless “hearts” during their shows, BIGBANG’s fanservice came in the form of good music and dedicated performances.
