G-Dragon is enjoying an endless popularity, sweeping music charts for four weeks in a row.

Starting from the 2 this month, G-Dragon has released the tracks of his second full solo album one by one, and now, three of his new songs “WHO YOU”, “BLACK”, and ‘CROOKED” have been staying in top 10 places for four weeks in a row, on Korea’s biggest music-streaming web-site Melon.

Three tracks staying in top 10 places four weeks after the release of a new album is a very rare case nowadays, when the rankings in music charts always change with a flood of new songs released every day.

G-Dragon’s popularity is notable not only in music charts but also in music shows.

G-Dragon took the number one place with his new song “BLACK” in “MCountdown” on the 12 this month, upon making a comeback. Then, in “INKIGAYO” aired on the 15 and the 22, “COUP D’ETAT” and “CROOKED” respectively were ranked number 1, creating a sensation of three songs in one album taking top places in music shows.

Usually, it is not easy for even one title track of an album to be the number one, but three songs in G-Dragon’s new solo album have become the top. This shows the fact that G-Dragon has been recognized by the public, for the quality of his album.

Recently, G-Dragon has drawn much attention not only within Korea but also from foreign media. New York Times’ recent coverage of G-Dragon has attracted many people’s attention, with a rave praise for him, “Before long, it’s likely (K-Pop’s) borrowing of (American pop) will be going in the other direction, with the world learning from him.”

G-Dragon has also entered the final third round in American music cable channel “FUSE TV”s contest to “Best New Artist”, by winning the second-round vote by music fans on musicians all over the world, in the Pop/Dance genre.

Plus, G-Dragon has been enjoying much popularity in China as well, recording the number of his followers on Weibo, China’s biggest local SNS, surpassing 520,000 within ten days from the opening of his account.
