[NEWS] YG ISSUES 2nd STATEMENT ABOUT DAESUNG'S CAR ACCIDENT
As Daesung’s car accident continues to be investigated, the taxi driver that was rear-ended by the Big Bang star revealed that Daesung had in fact been driving at 60km/h. A police statement previously asserted that Daesung was driving at 80km/h, but YG Entertainment has spoken out and argued that there are many different factors to this incident, and that it should be regarded as a complex case.
On May 31st, a YG Entertainment representative stated,
“The taxi driver who was rear-ended by Daesung has said that Daesung had not been driving that fast; he said that he felt he had driven at about 60 km/h. Although Daesung was the one who told the authorities that he was driving at 80 km/h, this was said while he was in a state of great shock and confusion.”
The site of the accident is on a downhill slope – isn’t it normal for most drivers to not have their foot on the accelerator while driving downhill? Therefore, in order to find at what speed Daesung was driving at, there must be an on-site investigation.“
Previously, the Seoul Youngdeung-Po Police Department stated,
“Daesung violated the rules for safe driving by not being able to see in front of him while driving at 80 km/h. If Daesung had in fact been driving at 80 km/h (where the speed limit was 60 km/h), it would be considered to be a speed limit violation. However, because that figure was part of Daesung’s testimony, in order to find out exactly how fast he was going, more investigation needs to be done.“
Meanwhile, the police are examining the accident in great detail, combing through certain facts like how the motorcyclist was already bleeding before Daesung’s accident, leading to a theory of a possible prior hit-and-run. According to the police, Daesung seemed to have not seen the motorcyclist because he was scrambling to brake when he saw the stopped taxi in front of him.
It’s been revealed that Daesung hadn’t been driving under the influence and that the taxi driver did not sustain any major injuries. After the accident, Daesung and the taxi driver underwent five hours of investigation by the authorities before returning home.
At the police station, Daesung said, “There was one car behind the taxi in the first lane. When both cars suddenly moved to the second lane, I couldn’t avoid hitting the taxi that had returned to the first lane to stop.”
The police revealed, “We plan to find the cause of the motorcyclist’s death. In order to determine if the motorcyclist had died due to Daesung’s car, we had requested a detailed analysis from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation and have obtained the CCTV footage from the area. We plan to investigate this scientifically.
When the motorcycle was found, it found standing more than 10m away from the motorcyclist. Whether this was due to a hit-and-run or another previous accident will be investigated with the Highway Department.”
It appears that results of the motorcycle analysis will take up to 7-10 days.
Daesung has received much shock due to this accident. A YG representative revealed, ”After finishing the police investigation at 7AM, Daesung has returned to his dorm with his manager.”
YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk said, “We will continue to follow the results that the police investigations reveal regarding the accident. Currently, Daesung’s distress is not due to his mistake, but due to his sorrow for the motorcyclist who died due to an accident.”

[NEWS] AUTHORITIES RELEASE NEW STATEMENT ABOUT DAESUNG'S ROLE IN THE CAR ACCIDENT
The Seoul Youngdeung-Po Police Department has released an official statement on May 31st about Daesung’s role in the car accident, stating, “Daesung has violated his duty to drive safely.”
The police explained: “At 1:28AM, Daesung was driving in the first lane from Hapjeong-dong in the direction of Yangpyung-dong on a 4-lane road. He was driving at 80km per hour (speed limit is 60km/h) and crashed into a stopped taxi after driving over a motorcyclist who was passed out on the street.”
They continued, “We will carry out a more detailed examination by monitoring the CCTV collected around the accident site, as well as gathering eyewitness reports and understanding the path of the motorcycle. We have requested an autopsy on the victim from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyori tweeted her worries, “I know that Daesung always blames himself for everything even though it’s not his fault, so I’m more saddened and worried for him.”

[NEWS] BIGBANG’S FUTURE ACTIVITIES INEVITABLY DISRUPTED
After the fatal car accident involving Big Bang member Daesung, activities are expected to inevitably be disrupted for some time.
Agency YG Entertainment said, “After the accident and being investigated for 3-4 hours at the police station, (Daesung) has returned to the hostel to rest”, adding, “he is in shock and is worrying greatly.”
According to YG, Daesung has no particular schedule for some time. The show that he is currently a regular on, SBS ‘Night After Night’ will not be recording this week, as explained by the agency. After the end of the 19-day concerts in Japan, Big Bang was on vacation until about next week.
However, the police investigation that is expected to take time looks to affect Big Bang’s future activities. In particular, in the case of if the death of the motorcyclist was caused by Daesung’s car accident, personal detainment may be inevitable.
The police are trying to find out the details of the first accident of the motorcyclist hit by Daesung’s car, and an autopsy has been scheduled to discover the cause of death.

[NEWS] BIGBANG IS RESTING AFTER JAPAN TOUR & PREPARING FOR THE NEW ALBUM
The 5-people idol group, Big Bang is currently on their vacation. After they have finished their Nagoya concert which was held on 19th . It marked the end of their Japan concert tour ‘Love & Hope’.
They have finished the tour with great success and Big Bang is now taking a rest domestically. On 25th, a staff of Big Bang has talked to the reporter of Starnews,’ Big Bang plans to enjoy their holiday by travelling.’ He continued, ‘they will have enough time for recharging themselves before they work on their new album.’
From the solo and united activeies of GD&TOP, Taeyang, Seungri and Daesung last year, then they went further to release Big Bang’s new album and have been active in performing both in Korea and overseas.
Big Bang plans to work continuously throughout this year. In the meeting that G- Dragon had with the reporters earlier, ‘ We will work with a variety of overseas artists for the new album and through this collaboration, we want to do an extraordinary musical experienment.’ he outlined the new music style by saying so.

SOL: “I like SOMEBODY TO LUV the most. I like the danceable feel. In the lyrics, someone is looking for someone with a wandering mind and it will leave world of lyrics a strong impression.”
D-LITE:“In one sentence, it’s “an album that is big and smooth”. Not only singing our own parts, but also think about how it will impact to the other members, the each of the five member’s parts naturally flow in one song.”
V.I: “In the lyrics of MS. LIAR that G-Dragon wrote, it’s pretending not to notice the lies of the girl you like. It’s painful. As G-Dragon ordered, we sang it in mature vocals, i hope you listen to it.”

Q: The songs you’ve written about love includes feelings of sadness, happiness, playfulness. So if you were to use a Big Bang song as a metaphor for your love life, which song would you choose?
GD: For example, “What is Right”. At that time, I didn’t really know much about love and I just continue to learn and grow. I wrote this song in order to candidly express the emotions I was feeling. I think this is what it feels like. What is the answer? Why can’t I find it? I just feel relationships are tough.More will be updated!
