G-DRAGON topped SBS’s Inkigayo, a music program, with ‘WHO YOU?’ from his solo album. This means that whopping 3 songs from his latest album topped the charts in music programs.
On SBS’s Inkigayo aired on Sept 22, G-DRAGON seized the trophy that symbolized his victory.
His achievement is a follow-up of last week’s, when he ranked #1 with ‘COUP D’ETAT’ on Inkigayo and with ‘BLACK’ on M Countdown. There are a number of artists who had the honor of seizing triple crowns, but topping charts with 3 songs from just 1 album is highly rare.
Like last week, 2 of G-DRAGON’s songs were nominated for #1 this week. And the two songs are ‘CROOKED’ and ‘BLACK’.
G-DRAGON, upon receiving the trophy, commented, “I take this award as a driving force for me to work harder. I thank my fans and the staff.”
The encore performance after receiving the award was joined by 2NE1’s CL, a fellow artist from YG Entertainment, who gave him a celebratory hug. It is said that CL was visiting the studio simply to cheer on G-DRAGON.
