G-DRAGON attending the Chanel fashion show has been covered by major international press such as The New York Times, Vogue, and The Telegraph, demonstrating G-DRAGON’s status as a global star.
On January 26 (local time), Vogue published a detailed story about G-DRAGON at the Chanel show titled “6 Times G-Dragon Was the Best Dressed Man at Chanel”.
They called G-DRAGON a “chameleonic K-pop star” and that “Ever since his first appearance at the Pre-Fall 2014 collection in Dallas, he has become a textbook example of how boring bouclé can be anything but.”
The New York Times commented, “the star attraction (of the Chanel show) proved to be G-Dragon” and The Telegraph said that G-DRAGON “caused a stir at Chanel” and that he “is becoming a real fashion week character”.
On January 26, G-DRAGON attended Chanel’s 2016 S/S Haute Couture Collection show held at the Grand Palais. He was the only Korean celebrity that was invited by Karl Lagerfeld himself. Wearing a navy suit and a furry Chanel trapper hat, he received much spotlight even amidst world-renowned stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Monica Bellucci.
Meanwhile, after attending the show, G-DRAGON will join the members to continue with BIGBANG’s dome tour in Japan titled “BIGBANG WORLD TOUR 2015~2016[MADE] IN JAPAN”. Their dome tour is coming to a close with only concerts in Fukuoka on February 6-7 and in Tokyo on February 23-24 left to go. From March 4 to 6, BIGBANG will hold encore concerts in Seoul titled “BIGBANG WORLD TOUR [MADE] FINAL IN SEOUL”.
Before their concerts in Seoul, BIGBANG will release “2016 WELCOMING COLLECTION DVD” both in Japan and Korea on March 2. On January 27, YG Entertainment announced this on their official blog while revealing a spot video of the five BIGBANG members. The DVD will feature pictorials of BIGBANG members and behind the scenes stories.
