BIGBANG’s united comeback project ‘MADE’ series is heightening expectations with a huge success from right off the bat. BIGBANG dominated the music charts and became the hottest issue as soon as they released their new songs, proving their power in the Korean music market.
BIGBANG released the new songs ‘Loser’ and ‘Bae Bae’ at 0 o’clock on the 1st, and they are taking the top two ranks of 10 major Korean music charts. In Melon, Korea’s biggest online music service site, the songs each recorded 12 and eight “roof-kicks,” which means the real-time access rate has reached its peak, recording a combined real-time access rate at 78%.
Not only in the music charts, BIGBANG is also becoming a hot issue for their united comeback itself. The group became a hot topic every time they released a teaser before their comeback and also instantly dominated the issues of the entertainment category of major portal sites with their comeback.
Moreover, the music videos of ‘Loser’ and ‘Bae Bae’ each recorded over 2.6 million hits within 14 hours after their release, exceeded 5 million combined hits on Youtube. The songs are getting favorable response from music lovers as the two songs each show different charms of BIGBANG.
BIGBANG’s influence was strong not only in Korea but overseas as well. According to the iTunes music charts, ‘M,’ the first single of this project, ranked 1st for the Top Singles Songs category—the main singles charts—in 10 countries including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Rumania, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
As a group with global influence, BIGBANG stood under the spotlight by foreign media outlets prior to their comeback. The Billboards previously expressed their expectations via the preview for ‘Loser’ and ‘Bae Bae.’ The Billboards introduced the songs by saying “BIGBANG’s return to the K-Pop scene after nearly three years is five times as nice,” and “’Loser’ appeals to BIGBANG’s melancholy R&B and hip-hop tendencies, and ‘Bae Bae’ is a trendy trap track.”
BIGBANG is getting a full attention with their comeback, and proving their hard work put in to making quality music for their long-awaited comeback, BIGBANG will be releasing single albums with one or more new tracks each month until August 1st going forward. As ‘Loser’ and ‘Bae Bae’ have seen success that continues to grow, the attention is on what kind of music the group will surprise and please the audience with in June, July, and August.
