[NEWS] G-DRAGON & TOP feature in a remix of "Bubble Butt."
The BIGBANG members get added for a special remix of the Hot 100 hit
Major Lazer's "Bubble Butt" already mixed dancehall, hip-hop and EDM in its original form, but a just-released remix adds yet another genre: K-pop.
A new version of the track surfaced today featuring two members of popular Korean boy band BIGBANG, G-Dragon and TOP. The 25-year-olds share a verse, rapping in both English and Korean, adding themselves to the other eclectic collaborators Bruno Mars, Tyga and San Francisco rapper Mystic.
Major Lazer's most-prominent producer Diplo has worked with the K-pop stars in the past: In 2010, the BIGBANG leader and his bandmate released a collaboration EP and the Diplo produced quirky, hip-hop track "KNOCKOUT," one of the EP's singles; Diplo also co-produced "Coup D'Etat" with Baauer, a single off G-Dragon's new EP "Coup D'Etat, Pt. 1" which hit the Billboard 200 last month.
In July, Diplo tweeted that he would be flying out to shoot a video for the "Korean version" of the track once it was complete. The original version of "Bubble Butt" peaked at No. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100.
