[13th Korean Music Awards] BIGBANG Wins Best Pop Song Award with “LOSER” 


BIGBANG won the Best Pop Song Award with their hit song, “LOSER”.

BIGBANG won the Best Pop Song Award at the 13th Korean Music Awards, which was held at the Guro Arts Valley Theatre, Seoul from 7 PM on February 29.

Director Park Heon-pyo of YG Entertainment, who came to receive the award for BIGBANG, said, “BIGBANG would like to thank the organizers and the judges. BIGBANG will make music that resonates with a lot of people and communicate more with fans.”

Meanwhile, the 13th Korean Music Awards acknowledged the achievements made by music artists from December 1, 2014 to November 30, 2015. Following the Best Folk category last year, the Best Heaviness category was newly added this year. The panel of judges was consisted 69 people including academics, music critics, reporters, music radio PDs, and other professionals within the industry and was led by Professor Kim Chang-nam.

The Korean Music Awards has 27 categories that are divided into four sections. The “Comprehensive Awards” include Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Musician of the Year and Rookie of the Year. The “Genre Awards” has 18 categories. The “Popularity Awards” are given to male and female groups based on the votes of netizens. The “Special Awards” consist of the Committee Choice Special Award and the Achievement Award.
