[NEWS] BIGBANG goes to 30th Golden Disc held in China

BIGBANG has recently decided not to perform in the end-of-year music awards of three major public TV networks in Korea, in order to concentrate on the work for their new album. However, they confirmed performance in “The 30th Golden Disc Awards”.

According to the Golden Disc Awards, BIGBANG will attend the 30th Golden Disc Awards to be hosted on January 20 and 21, 2016, in Shenzhen, China.

That is somewhat surprising news, as BIGBANG has already decided that they will not attend the end-of-year music awards of the three major public TV networks in Korea. The reason for such decision was because of their busy schedule for the release of a new album and continuing “BIGBANG WORLD TOUR 2015 – 2016 MADE”.

However, there is a certain reason for BIGBANG’s decision to perform in Golden Disc Awards. BIGBANG began discussions on their performance in the awards already from November this year and from December, they began to work to raise the quality of the stage production. When TAEYANG attended the 29thGolden Disc Awards to receive the best song of the year award for “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” early this year, he was so satisfied with the quality of the stage. That seems to be one of the reasons for BIGBANG’s decision to perform in the awards again.

One music industry insider said, “BIGBANG took high rankings on charts with their ‘MADE’ series released from May this year, so they could confirm their performance in the Golden Disc Awards early. After the decision was made, BIGBANG began discussions on the stage production right away. As BIGBANG always put top priority on stage production, the staff members of the golden Disc Awards are working very hard on everything for the stage.”

Every single album of BIGBANG’s “MADE” series that began in May this year swept top places on all music charts for four months in a row, and “LOSER” was selected as the most-listened to song of the year and the video of “BANG BANG BANG” was also picked as the most-watched music video of the year. Thus, people are very much looking forward to BIGBANG’s full-length album. Plus, BIGBANG made splendid achievements by receiving the best artist and song of the year awards at “2015 Melon Music Awards”, as well as the best singer and song of the year awards in “2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards”.
