[Music Talk Talk] BIGBANG, the prince of the music scene for the year 2015

BIGBANG’s power and influence is being extended to the end of the year. They are being recognized as the boy group who made the most shining achievements for the year 2015, taking No.1 on a variety of surveys and awards.

BIGBANG took No.1 on the list of the best singers of the year surveyed by Korea Gallup. Korea Gallup carried out three surveys in July, September, and November on 4,200 men and women aged between 13 and 59 nationwide (excluding Jeju Island) about their three favorite singers for the year 2015 (free answers), and the result was released on the 17.

This is no surprise. BIGBANG released a number of songs this year through the “MADE” project. “BANG BANG BANG,” “LOSER,” and “BAE BAE” dominated major music charts. These experimental songs demonstrated the boy band’s distinctive attractiveness. They went on world tours and were also well received abroad.

And “BANG BANG BANG” was selected as the best K-pop song of 2015. Included in “A,” the second single of the “MADE” series, the song has an addictive rhythm and intense beats that go well with BIGBANG’s own style. It was selected as the “Song of the Year” at 2015 MAMA, and its music video had the most views among K-POP songs on Youtube this year.

BIGBANG’s success this year culminated at 2015 MAMA, where they won the “Best Song of the Year” and was selected as the “Best Artist of the Year,” the two biggest awards of the ceremony. They were also selected as the “Worldwide Favorite Artist” and won the “Best Music Video Award.”

On top of that, there are other achievements BIGBANG has made this year. “LOSER” was selected as one of the 20 best songs of 2015 by Fuse TV. “This year marked a banner year for the K-pop phenoms BIGBANG, who promoted eight different singles this summer,” said Fuse TV. “… With this brilliant mid-tempo track, that mixed BIGBANG’s emotion-soaked hip hop with a slew of impassioned hooks. … “Loser” moves you regardless of what language you speak.”

On Facebook, BIGBANG had 10 million 7,486 likes, which is the highest number among K-pop bands. It has been 10 years since they made their debut, and they are still competitive and popular. And YG ENTERTAINMENT disclosed a poster which reads, “THANK YOU 10,000,000 LIKES,” on the official page of BIGBANG and expressed their gratitude to the fans.

And BIGBANG is now ranked on the top on Gaon Chart in terms of digital sales from Jan. to Nov. According to the chart, “LOSER” ranks first on the digital comprehensive chart from Jan. to the fourth week of Nov., while “BANG BANG BANG” is at the top of the list in terms of downloads over the same period. If this trend continues, BIGBANG is highly likely to be ranked top in terms of digital sales in 2015.

Indeed, BIGBANG has achieved a resounding success this year. The official “MADE” album is yet to be released, so their popularity is expected to continue into next year.
