BIGBANG has become the best singer of the year.
According Korea Gallup’s survey on 4,200 men and women between the age of 13 and 59 about their top three favorite singers for this year (free answers), BIGBANG, the leading Korean-Wave boy group and the icon of pop culture, took No.1 by taking up 15.5% of responses. The survey was carried out three time in July, September, and November, on respondents from nationwide (excluding Jeju Island).
This year, BIGBANG came back as a complete team after three years of absence from the music scene. Experimental songs including “BANG BANG BANG”, “LOSER”, “BAE BAE”, etc. with BIGBANG’s unique color and style swept a variety of music charts and their world tour was extolled overseas as well. BIGBANG took No.2 on the ranking of “best singers of the year” for three years in a row from 2007 to 2009, and again in 2011. This year, BIGBANG has finally taken No.1 for the first time.
