The new BIGBANG is surprisingly different.
Group BIGBANG released new single “E” on August 5 at 0 o’clock. The August’s new single includes new song “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE”, as well as “ZUTTER” which is a song released by GD&TOP for the first time in five years. The two songs that have completely different moods and colors are something that “only BIGBANG” can do, which show idol group BIGBANG’s wide artistic spectrum.
◈ “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” – Beautiful but sad youth
“LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” is a song filled with joyful and fluttering emotions, in which a sentimental melody line and five member’s different vocals are harmonized together. Such young and fresh beauty is expressed based on a sorrowful emotion. The song’s lyrics that say “let’s not fall in love” because he knows how love ends, paradoxically expresses a strong craving for pure love.
“We don’t know it well yet. Actually I’m a little bit afraid. I’m sorry for you. Let’s not make promises. We don’t know about tomorrow. But I really mean it. I like you. Don’t ask me anything. BIGBANG members in the music video released along with the music boasts the members’ fresh youth with soft and tender colors. The images are full of dynamic vividness like a TV drama. The video naturally makes viewers’ hearts beat. Just like the scene in which the members get soaked in the rain, all the images in it touch viewers’ emotions in a tender and cool manner. The end of the song that fades away as if it is not an end, leaves a strong impression.
Before the release of the new songs, BIGBANG members met fans around the world on top star’s individual broadcasting channel “V-APP”, on August 4. In the show, TAEYANG talked about “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE”, saying, “It literally means that ‘let’s not fall in love’. Because we know about the end of love. Because when we’re in love, we already know about its end. So the song says that we should not fall in love.” Plus, BIGBANG also mentioned their new music video, “We have never created a music video with a bright mood like the new one, but we tried it this time.”
◈ “ZUTTER” – Wild and stylish G-DRAGON & Daeghil
“ZUTTER”, another new song for this August, is a “song jointly created by Tazza G-DRA-GONI & Daeghil”, which leaves a strong impression with the explosive energy of the two rappers of BIGBANG.
“ZUTTER” is an authentic hip-hop music created by G-DRAGON and T.O.P with their initial resolution, for the first time in five years. The unit team of the two released their first full-length album in December 2010, to draw a big popularity with “HIGH HIGH”. So, fans have expressed high expectations for the new song to be unveiled by the unit after five years of absence. YG’s representative producer TEDDY, G-DRAGON, and T.O.P wrote the song together, and TEDDY arranged it.
T.O.P and G-DRAGON’s unique flow and rap with full beat catch the ears of listeners. G-DRAGON’s clear and articulate diction and T.O.P’s charismatic rapping with his baritone tone create a perfect harmony. Rhyme of “ZUTTER” and lyrics like “Tazza G-DRA-GONI and Daeghil’s joint project” sound fun.

The music video unveiled along with the song looks like a crime film or a road movie, and it reminds of movie “Tazza: The High Rollers”, in which T.O.P acted the title role. Just as in the film, a variety of different characters show up in the music video, including comedian Yoo Byung-Jae who has recently joined YG. While those characters create funny scenes, the fact that the image of pig that was recently posted on T.O.P’s SNS to draw a big attention was actually a spoiler of the music video has been revealed.
BIGBANG began their “MADE” project in May this year, and has been achieving success smoothly. In May, first single “M” with “LOSER” and “BAE BAE” was released, to mark the successful beginning of the project by sweeping different on-line music charts and music shows. Then, second single “A” with “BANG BANG BANG” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” released in June also proved BIGBANG’s potential, dominating a variety of music charts. Third single “D” with “IF YOU” ad “SOBER” released in July also hit the music scene hard, with two different moods of sentimentalism and cool summer’s feel.
