[NEWS] BIGBANG Breaks Their Own Records: Power of Their Music

BIGBANG’s influence is much greater than expected. They aroused much attention by announcing to release new songs every month from May to August, and they kicked off their journey by sweeping across all charts from their first batch of songs. They are breaking their own records. They are here to mesmerize the public.

Since the release of “LOSER” and “BAE BAE” on May 1, BIGBANG has been occupying the top two slots of South Korea’s major music charts like Melon, bugs, and Olleh Music. On Gaon Chart the tracks broke the record of the most-streamed songs, while they are seizing trophies on music programs like Inkigayo, Music Bank, M Countdown and more to come.

BIGBANG’s influence was somehow expected as they are already South Korea’s representing band. Fans expectation ballooned as it took them 3 years to return. So at some level their triumph was expected. However, with other artists also making comebacks and in a time when things can change in the blink of an eye, occupying not one but two slots at the top on charts is not easy even for BIGBANG. This is what makes the quintet so special.

Despite how popular an artist is, they tend to last only a few days at the top of charts after releasing songs. But it’s different for BIGBANG. The band has been doing this for whopping 16 days. When it comes to music, the band name does not matter anymore—the song itself relies on the word-of-mouth. BIGBANG broke their own records and is now genuinely recognized for their musical talents.

And there’s more. The fact that they are unrivalled for 16 long days is surprising, but what’s more surprising is the runner-up track “BAE BAE.” They only released two tracks and both of them stand at the top of charts. Their biggest competitor is themselves. Now that’s definitely notable.

Until August, BIGBANG is scheduled to release new songs every first of the month. They’ve been sweeping across the music world for 16 days, which means there are only 15 days left until their next batch of songs come out. Fans jokingly say “BIGBANG’s rival is BIGBANG,” and that’s true in every way. Now all eyes are on the quintet once again to see how they will surprise us in June. Expectations only climb.
