[NEWS] G-DRAGON IS SELECTED AS THE FACE OF FAMOUS WEB-MAGAZINE HYPEBEAST’S COVER FEATURE
BIGBANG’s member G-DRAGON has been selected as the face of world-famous web-magazine HYPEBEAST’s latest cover feature.
G-DRAGON’s label YG Entertainment announced on the 21, “For the first issue in 2014, HYPEBEAST selected G-DRAGON as the icon who shows the convergence between music and fashion the best. The magazine made headlines with an interview on G-DRAGON’s music and fashion, with his photography”.
The latest issue of HYPEBEAST magazine is titled “The Rhapsody Issue”. It focuses on two areas including music and fashion and highlights what dynamic synergy the two areas create in the modern era, through G-DRAGON.
HYPEBEAST complimented G-DRAGON, saying, “The rising influence of G-DRAGON encapsulates the current state of affairs in popular culture and the South Korean pop star epitomizes the synonymity that fashion and music share.”
Then, the magazine added, “G-DRAGON stands as the face of the cover feature — an in-depth look at the synergy between his music and fashion, the interesting partnership that he has with his stylist and what the future holds for the talented artist”.
Plus, HYPEBEAST gave a favorable comment, “Expressing G-DRAGON just as an artist and producer is an underestimation and he goes beyond the boundary of music. He borders with a very creative fashion and design area. He has gone beyond the boundary of K-Pop, while maintaining the elements of Korean culture through fashion and social media. At the same time, he has been moving on to the North American market and the world”.
In the interview with HYPEBEAST, G-DRAGON said, “Fashion has greatly influenced the establishment of my image so far. My fans and the public have a big interest in my fashion and style”. At the same time however, he added, “My goal is to more concentrate on music, so that fans can listen to the artistic aspect of my music and understand it”.
Meanwhile, in its cover story about fashion and music, HYPEBEAST selected America’s leading designer Thom Browne and creative director Dirk Schonberge of Adidas’s Sports Style division as the representatives of the fashion world. In the music corner, the magazine selected Swedish singer/songwriter Snoh Aalegra and progressive electronic musician Ta-ku.
