[NEWS] BIGBANG Successfully Ends Concert Tour by Gathering 810,000 Fans
BIGBANG successfully finished its concert tour in Korea and Japan, gathering over a total of 810,000 fans.
BIGBANG launched a six dome tour in Japan last November, as the first non-Japanese artist to do so, and carried on with the tour until January 13 of this year, gathering 771,000 fans in Japan. Then the group performed the finale of the tour by holding a weekend long concert in Korea between January 24 and 26, which invited another 36,000 fans.
Despite the fact that they kept low with group activities, BIGBANG still proved its popularity as a whole by filling up every concert seat.
Starting with G-Dragon’s world tour, the other members kept themselves busy throughout last year, with Daesung’s Japan tour, Seungri’s Japanese album release and promotional activities, Taeyang’s solo activities and T.O.P’s appearance in a movie as well as a solo album release.
BIGBANG has held a concert in the beginning of each year since 2009, and this year was no exception. The members put on encore performances to thank the fans for their support, for the concert which lasted for over three hours.
On the last day of the concert, G-Dragon received loud cheers by announcing that Big Bang will be releasing its third full-length album this summer.
The group’s global fans from Korea, Peru, Thailand, Turkey, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Philippines, China and more also showed their support for BIGBANG by preparing rice wreaths to donate 6,658 kilograms of rice, 900 eggs, 4,380 ramen, 1,100 coal briquettes, and 48 containers of baby formula to those in need.
Before the release of the group’s third full-length album, the members will carry on with their solo activities, including Taeyang, who will be releasing a solo album and T.O.P, who will be starring in movie Tazza 2.
