Boy group BIGBANG has successfully rounded off their Japan six dome tour and come back to Korean fans who have been eagerly waiting for them. In return to the love of fans who have been waiting for a concert of BIGBANG as a complete team, they showed an evolved performance in term of everything including the music, performance, production, and fashion, in their latest concert in Seoul.
On the 26 this month, “’2014 BIGBANG +α IN SEOUL” concert was held at Olympic Gymnastics Hall in Seoul. BIGBANG has landed on Seoul as a complete team, one year after “BIGBANG ALIVE GALAXY TOUR THE FINAL” concert held last year.
Before the concert began, fans who were fretted to get tickets were spotted near the concert hall. Some Japanese fans were expressing their desperate wish to see BIGBANG concert, holding pickets that read “Please sell your ticket to me”. The audience who managed to enter the concert hall after winning a fierce competition to buy a ticket colored Olympic Gymnastics Hall all gold, holding the crown stick, which symbolizes BIGBANG.
BIGBANG members in red checkered suits opened the concert by singing “HARU HARU”, “BLUE”, and “BAD BOY” in a row. Notably, the audience acclaimed every groovy movement of BIGBANG members on the stage of “BAD BOY”.
Each BIGBANG member sent greetings to the audience of their concert by introducing themselves one by one. SEUNGRI delivered his unique cute greetings to the audience by saying, “Have you been missing us? I am SEUNGRI”. TAEYANG threw a question to the audience by asking “Who am I?”, to draw an excited response from the audience. The greetings elated the atmosphere among the audience.
On the stage of “GARA GARA GO”, BIGBANG members swept the scene by standing on a moving round stage located in the outer circle of the concert hall. Then, in the following dance-breaking session, all the members gave themselves to the music and enjoyed the performance. For the performance of “HANDS UP”, BIGBANG rode on an iron structure at the center of the central stage, to show a dynamic stage.
Just as BIGBANG enjoys much popularity as a team, each member has been loved a lot as a solo artist, too. In return to such popularity, BIGBANG members showcased solo performances in the concert to exert each one’s unique charms. SEUNGRI came upon the stage in a black suit to sing “LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE” and “GOTTA TALK TO YOU” in a row. Notably, on the stage of “GOTTA TALK TO YOU”, SEUNGRI gave off his manly appeal by giving an enthusiastic performance that included a couple dance with a female dancer.
DAESUNG came up in a hot pink suit and sang “WINGS”, coming back and forth between the central stage and a protruding stage. DAESUNG shouted, “Let’s fly all together” and the audience returned an enthusiastic response by singing the chorus of the song along with him and swinging light sticks. DAESUNG expressed his pleasure to meet Korean fans by saying, “I speak Korean after a really long break. I’ve been waiting for a stage in Korea a lot. I’m really happy.” Then, he sang his Japanese solo track “JOYFUL”. Even though the song was in the Japanese language, the audience sang the chorus and enjoyed the performance.
On his solo stage, TAEYANG sang “ONLY LOOK AT ME” and “WEDDING DRESS” and the audience acclaimed his passionate performance by shouting his birth name “Dong Young-bae”. Then, he electrified the audience by presenting a powerful dance with dancers on the stage of “RINGA LINGA”, his solo song that enjoyed much popularity for the past year. As the song approached its climax, TAEYANG actively interacted with the audience by providing fans with a service of getting down to the standing seats.
G-DRAGON began his solo performance by singing “CRAYON”. He came upon the stage in an impressive leopard fur jacket. He presented a charismatic stage, waving a towel that reads “CRAYON”. He began his solo performance by asking the audience, “Are you having fun? I don’t see it”. He went on to introduce his next song “CROOKED” by wittily saying, “It has already been one month into 2014. I was very ‘crooked’ in the year 2013. My new year’s resolution was to live honestly, but I’m getting crooked here once again, as you give me such a big applause.” He captivated the audience with his seasoned stage manners and performance, which have evolved through the success of his solo tour in Japan last year.
The last in turn was T.O.P. He appeared on the stage with a mega-sized mike attached on his back, which created sensation at “Mnet Asian Music Awards” last year. He presented his charisma and sex appeal by singing “TURN IT UP” and “DOOM DADA” in his unique comfortable facial expression and flagship low voice. The storm of his rapping in the song’s climax and the fireworks that followed it made the audience feel excited and give thunders of shouts that swept the concert hall.
The climax of the concert was the stage on which all the five BIGBANG members stood together. They introduce the performance as “the song that was brought to the world when BIGBANG was given birth nine years ago” and sang “TOGETHER FOREVER”, “BIGBANG”, and “SHAKE IT” in relays. The perfect group dance, which is different from BIGBANG’s current style of dancing individually, drew an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Before the performance, DAESUNG recalled the days of their debut and said, “In those days, we practiced the dance so much that we could do it even right after we wake up”. In the backgroud, a break video that depicts the history of BIGBANG was being played. The audience sang along the background song of the video and showed a passionate reaction to the scenes of BIGBANG appearing in an entertainment show.
Next, BIGBANG presented an exciting stage of “TONIGHT”, “FEELING”, and “LAST FAREWELL”, that lived up to their title as the king of performance. Then, the concert was closed with ‘FANTASTIC BABY”. TAEYANG promised to meet Korean fans again soon by saying, “I have been happy for these three days, seeing Korean fans after a long break. This concert was prepared for our Japan dome tour originally, but we came to miss you more and more. BIGBANG could stand on the global stage all thanks to your support. Because we want to spend time with you as soon as possible, we are working on the next regular album now.”
Before the last farewell, G-DRAGON announced the release of BIGBANG’s next regular album in this summer, by stating, “It will be this summer. We will work hard for our next album, as well as for our individual performances, to come back as a complete team which you like the most. We will become the singer who you can have pride in. We are really happy to be with you today, and we thank you for coming to see us.”
BIGBANG concert in Seoul was like a gift set for fans who have been waiting for them as a complete team. The concert satisfied fans in all aspects including music, performance, costumes, and stage production. Plus, BIGBANG members made the audience laugh by showcasing witty words and fun voice imitation. The varied program of the concert which left no audience bored and the perfect harmony with 12,000 persons of audience proved BIGBANG’s talent and capabilities as an entertainer, which have been built for the last nine years. Now, people are paying keen attention to what history BIGBANG, a singer who cries “We have been missing Korean fans’ shouts”, will newly write in the year 2014.
