BIGBANG’s members are showcasing a unique method of promotion by releasing an album one by one. Now all eyes are on the five members to see whether they can succeed the popularity to one another when they hand down the baton.
With T.O.P’s announcement on Oct 30 of his comeback, the BIGBANG solo project carefully designed by YG Entertainment was finally completed. T.O.P is expected to unleash his full talents and charms by carrying out double careers as an actor in the film ‘Commitment’ and as a singer with his solo album.
DAESUNG’s release of his album in Japan in February was followed by SEUNGRI’s in August, and G-DRAGON’s in September in South Korea. And TAEYANG is following that path by announcing his upcoming album release in mid-November. To add to this, T.O.P has just officially stated his solo album release, which completes the full cycle of BIGBANG members’ solo album release.
This relay of solo album release is quite unique in a way that BIGBANG will be carrying out their Japan’s Dome Tour project simultaneously with their solo album promotions. This is a rare opportunity for the members to set their remarkable talents free as a group and as an individual artist. Each member and all members as a group are garnering an enormous amount of popularity and affection from music lovers, making YG Entertainment’s distinct strategy evermore successful.
YG’s personnel familiar with the matter told OSEN, “Laying out a strategy that is this successful is highly rare, let alone framing a strategy that involves both solo albums and group activities for BIGBANG,” and added, “This is a clear testament to BIGBANG’s success in being solo artists, along with being the most influential K-Pop group that led the craze for Korean music.”
T.O.P, who just finished filming a music video worth hundreds of million won, is attracting much attention from the fans to see how he will showcase his thick husky voice in the upcoming album. The news on his album release has heightened the excitement for the fans, as they will be seeing T.O.P as both an actor and musician in the film ‘Commitment’ and the new album.
