[NEWS] Meaning behind G-Dragon’s mini-album title track ‘CRAYON’ revealed
It was recently reported that G-Dragon’s newest mini-album tracklist was revealed through YG Entertainment‘s official blog, ‘YG LIFE’.
According to YG’s reports to allkpop, the album, ‘ONE OF A KIND’, which is scheduled for release on the 15th of September contains seven tracks, of which the second track, ‘CRAYON’ will be the title song.
Co-produced and co-written by YG Entertainment’s representative producer Teddy and G-Dragon himself, the name ‘CRAYON’ is the shortened version of ‘CRAZY ON’, derived from the combination of ‘CRAZY + G-DRAGON’. Parallel to the title, the official title song is said to represent a G-Dragon who is crazed about an unspecified thing, and is expected to showcase the Big Bang member’s unique color.
In addition to the attention the album has been receiving for G-Dragon’s personal participation in the production of all seven tracks, it is drawing interest because of the various artists who featured in the tracks as well.
Of all the songs, the third track titled ‘Ultimately’ is receiving the most attention because it reads that the track features ’? of YG New Girl Group’, as can be seen on the actual tracklist. It is being assumed that another mysterious upcoming female group member participated in the album following Jennie Kim’s appearance as the female lead in G-Dragon’s ‘That XX’ music video released just days ago.
Furthermore, Jaurim’s Kim Yoona featured on the 5th track ‘MISSING YOU’ while Nell’s Kim Jong Wan participated in the 6th track ‘TODAY’. As artists outside of YG typically have not participated in Big Bang or G-Dragon’s albums, fans are expecting this album to be new and exciting. In addition, the 7th bonus track titled ‘Light the Fire‘ features artists such as Tablo and underground rapper ‘DOK2’, raising the anticipation for how the artists’ and G-Dragon’s musical colors will harmonize in the track.
Meanwhile, ‘That XX’ which was released just days ago has taken the #1 spot on music sites and is being noted for being the first track ‘restricted for minors’, to have taken the first place spot on music charts. As a result, it can be seen that G-Dragon’s music appeals not only to teens and those in their 20s, but to a wide range of age groups.
In addition, the music video for ‘One of a Kind’ gathered over 10 million views in one week while the video for ‘That XX’ received 3 million views in just two days after its release, and even before his official promotions, the artist has been receiving much love.
The tracks from G-Dragon’s first mini album ‘ONE OF A KIND’ will released on the 15th of this month while the album will officially be revealed on the 18th.

[Star of the Week] G-Dragon’s ‘One of a Kind’ Hairstyles
True to his song title, Big Bang leader G-Dragon is definitely one of a kind in many respects, but if there’s an area in his life that personifies this characteristic the most, it’s all in his head—er, hair.
When it comes to his hair, G-Dragon’s motto seems to be ‘the crazier and weirder the better,’ so we’ve gathered some of his wildest hair moments below.
The Mohawk
At this point, the Mohawk is more overdone than original among idol stars, but G-Dragon has managed to put his own spin on the tired hairstyle time and time again.
From Mohawks to faux hawks and everything in between, we’ve seen it all—thanks to G-Dragon.
Seaweed hair
Big Bang splashed back onto the K-Pop scene earlier this year with fifth mini album Alive, but what also made huge waves was G-Dragon’s seaweed hair.
We’ll admit, the hairstyle took a little getting used to, and as if the long lock wasn′t bizarre enough, we learned it was also high maintenance.
The Mushroom
G-Dragon donned a similar platinum blonde ‘do for his first solo single Heartbreaker, but he topped himself with the mushroom hair he rocked for Monster.
Ooh, aah, see how it moves! Get in line because we have first dibs on G-Dragon for our shampoo commercial.
Parted pink
We didn’t get to see G-Dragon’s hot pink hair move onstage, as it was essentially an SNS exclusive seen mostly on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, but it was electrifying enough to catch our attention and make this list.
We particularly liked the complimentary center part as well as the crazy facial expressions and poses it brought out of G-Dragon.
Braided
From cornrows to pigtails and bandanas, G-Dragon brought back every 90s hip hop hairstyle known to gangster rappers for latest single One of a Kind.
We’re usually turned off by pretty boy K-Pop stars posing as thugs, but the music video’s over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek (we hope) salute to gangster rap hairstyles was so un-be-weave-ably perfect.

[Star of the Week] [Song Review] G-Dragon Messes Around on ‘One of a Kind’
The good (or bad) thing about G-Dragon is that you never know what to expect from him.
The ‘intro’ to his long-awaited next solo album, One of a Kind, is out, and immediately you notice that this time, it’s not about the flashy lights are or how excited he can get you. He takes his time when he needs it, and though you can’t understand what he’s saying half of the time in your first few listens of this song, you get the message; he’s cool, he knows it and he is indeed one of a kind.
No fancy sounds cover up for this single. He sits you down in the middle of a simple, droning backdrop and confronts you only with his voice and his flow.
At times he apologizes and at times he begs for love, but you can tell that though he seems apologetic on the outside, what’s hiding inside is that fun rascal we’re all used to seeing.
He’s as serious as the reeling background sounds and the sudden high tone break he takes in the middle. He also throws the criticisms back at whoever threw them at him in the first place in a bold move, pretending to listen but then brushing them off as if to say, “So you hate me? I’m sorry. Are we cool now?”
Make sure to check out One of a Kind with its music video, because it seems they’re meant to be together as One of a Kind will not be released as a separate single (at least for the time being).
The black and white atmosphere, scattered with a few brilliant colors here and there, help G-Dragon define the song yet again with a few disturbing moments here, a little teasing there, but, most definitely with a lot of cool.

[Star of the Week] G-Dragon’s Cutest Old School Moments
Before G-Dragon was the fearless leader of Big Bang, he was a superstar-in-training.
Most of his fans know that G-Dragon has been in front of the cameras since he was a tiny tot, and while he’s killing us with his charisma now, then, he was killing moms with the cute.
We’ve rounded up some of G-Dragon’s cutest old school moments for you below, so read on and try to keep the goo-goo-gaga baby talk to a minimum.
Baby G-Dragon dances
If G-Dragon seems like a natural born idol star and leader, it’s because he’s had a lot of training, as he had his first taste of the spotlight at a young age.
Before he was making a lot of noise with Big Bang, G-Dragon was a pretty big deal among child stars and stage moms as a member of Little Roo’Ra.
Baby G-Dragon acts
Like many idol stars, the Big Bang members have dabbled in acting since making their idol group debut, but as always, G-Dragon has proven to be way ahead of the game, having dipped his toes in acting as a child actor.
We’re still waiting to see if G-Dragon will ever return to the acting world, but in the meantime, watch baby G-Dragon’s Oscar-worthy performance in the clip below. But pay close attention because it’s all in the first 10 seconds. Blink and you’ll miss it!
GD is a Hip Hop Gentleman
Although G-Dragon is known as Big Bang’s leader, he was building up his resume way before the group’s debut, having rapped on various YG Family tracks.
Nothing says old school hip hop like baggy T-shirts and Air Force Ones, as seen in the music video for YG Family’s Hip Hop Gentleman.
Pre-Big Bang G-Dragon practices hard
Although G-Dragon has contributed to various YG Family tracks like the one above, his musical career took off with Big Bang.
G-Dragon may make being an idol star look easy, but it took a lot of training and hours in the YG practice room to make him the performer he is today.
Pre-debut clips of the singer floating around on YouTube give fans a raw look at the oft flashy idol star to reveal that there’s actually incredible talent hidden beneath the glamorized surface.
The clip below reminds us that before G-Dragon was rocking the designer duds, he was pounding the pavement in sweats and a T-shirt to get the moves just right.

[Star of the Week] G-Dragon’s Best Collaborations
While it’s great to see G-Dragon partying it up with Big Bang members on stage, it’s even more awesome seeing some of the interactions that the leader has with other K-Pop singers.
G-Dragon had many collaborative performances with some of the hottest stars in the K-Pop scene, so we share with you some of our favorite collaborations with G-Dragon.
2NE1’s CL
The winners of our We Got Married poll is up first.
When G-Dragon and CL come together, an unexplainable presence that can only come out from the leaders of Big Bang and 2NE1 appears and fills an empty stage.
Having worked on the track The Leaders together, also featuring 1TYM’s leader Teddy, G-Dragon and CL took control of the stage with their fierce rapping at one end-of-the year music ceremony in 2009.
While they sauntered around the stage with no flashy choreography or actions, the pair took over the stage and made it their own.
2NE1’s Sandara Park
Although they’re four years apart in age, G-Dragon and Sandara Park went together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong (Sorry, Grease reference. Couldn’t resist) putting on an awesome performance of G-Dragon’s Hello at his Shine a Light concert.
Maybe the special chemistry that exists between them is because Sandara Park’s ideal man used to be G-Dragon in the past, mostly because G-Dragon helped carry her snowboard at one point. But now they’re just good nuna and dongsengs, who put on fun performances together.
Park Myung Soo
No one really believed it when Park Myung Soo asked to collaborate together on MBC’s Infinity Challenge G-Dragon would actually say yes and do an amazing job while juggling all of his busy schedules with Big Bang.
G-Dragon, who becomes super serious when it comes to music, was able to patiently accommodate Park Myung Soo’s pickiness and fear of trying something completely new.
Taking both G-Dragon’s and Park Myung Soo’s styles and jamming them together somehow, they created the perfect summer song of 2011, beautifully decorated by Park Bom’s voice as well.
Wonder Girls’ Sohee
We want to go ahead and say that Big Bang and Wonder Girls’ collaborations were one of the most highlighted performances in 2007 with both groups soaring in popularity with Lies and Tell Me.
Among the different pairings between the two groups, G-Dragon’s chemistry with Sohee was especially noted. With their adorable interactions and expressions, the two singers were so loved by fans that rumors of the two singers dating even appeared.
Big Bang’s T.O.P
How can we forget this epic duo?
When the two rappers of Big Bang announced that they would perform together as GD & T.O.P, so much anticipation was created, and we’d like to think that the all of our expectations were met.
Together, G-Dragon and T.O.P, not only flashed their crazy hairstyles and luxurious brand name items, but brought down the stage with their never ending energy and presence full of class.
Big Bang’s Taeyang
Best friends for life.
G-Dragon is not G-Dragon without his Youngbae and Taeyang is not Taeyang without his Jiyong.
They’ve know each other since they were little kids and now they’re taking over the K-Pop world with their friendship still intact.
Whenever one releases a solo, the other is sure to feature in it, proving their everlasting friendship, as well as providing fan service for the V.I.Ps.
We love this pair and hope they continue to be a great support to each other’s music careers.
So there you have it.
Some of G-Dragon’s best collaborations in his careers.
Which ones are your favorites and what other collaborations can you think of?

[Star of the Week] G-Dragon’s Top Issue-Making Lyrics
G-Dragon certainly knows how to grab the people’s attention, and when he’s not doing it with his hair or his fashion forward looks, he’s doing it with pen and paper.
The Big Bang leader is well known for his songwriting skills as he’s written the lyrics to numerous Big Bang songs as well as his own solo tracks.
And now he′s raising eyebrows with his Rated R single That XX.
But this isn′t the first time G-Dragon has stirred the pot with his lyrics, so we’ve sifted through numerous G-Dragon-penned tracks and gave them a good listen to uncover some of his top issue-making lyrics.
This Love
G-Dragon’s solo track, This Love, on Big Bang’s first album Big Bang Vol. 1, which was released in 2006, caused quite a stir among fans because of a few lines in the song that suggested the song was about G-Dragon’s ex-girlfriend at the time.
The first line that clued listeners in on the possibility of the song being about a certain girl was the following:
September 19th, Your birthday.
The kicker, however, comes at the end of the song, where G-Dragon mentions a letter that fans presumed was the initial of the ex-girlfriend’s name :
Hey J look at me
After your left it ain’t the same
I’m not what I used to be
After your left it ain’t the same
I’m not what I used to be
At the time of the song’s release, fans ran with the hints(?) and attempted to uncover the identity of this mysterious ex-girlfriend.
A little childish, yes, but isn’t that what puppy love is all about?
GD&TOP’s Intro
Fans took to making an issue out of another lyric G-Dragon wrote, possibly referencing another girlfriend, for the intro track on the GD&TOP album.
I’m short, but my girl is tall
GD&TOP’s Don’t Go Home
The title is considerably racy, especially considering their idol group roots, but GD and T.O.P were out to prove they were all grown up in the sexually suggestive, 19-and-over track Don’t Go Home.
Turn the lights down low, You and I make eye contact
I undo my button slightly, Mouth dry, I close the door
I undo my button slightly, Mouth dry, I close the door
Whew, the lyrics certainly aren’t your traditional Big Bang chatter, but we don’t mind G-Dragon and T.O.P’s Boys II Men moment. Not at all.
One of a Kind
For the amount of love G-Dragon receives from his fans, he also has his fair share of haters, and he set out to tell them like it is in with his latest single One of a Kind.
And, basically, what it is, is G-Dragon’s the sh*t. Except we don’t hate him for it. We love him, actually — for being so bold.
Because I’m different, Because that’s me, Because everyone goes crazy over everything I do
Because I set trends, Because I change everything, So how far can my skills go?
Get back, This isn’t a joke, Young & rich, That’s me
So I’m fast, So what, It’s okay, Are you kidding me? I’m no joke
G-Dragon doesn’t sugarcoat it when he continues with talk about his moneymaking skills in the following lines:
Yeah I’m busy busy?
My business grows money trees
I don’t rest, My songs raise buildings, I love it.
Yes, it’s a little in-your-face, but, for better or worse, he speaks the truth.

[Star of the Week] G-Dragon
It′s another week, another Star to highlight!
We′ve seen your likes, Tweets and hits - which made choosing this week′s Star of the Week relatively easy!
That′s right - it′s the 'One of a Kind' star, G-Dragon.
Though he′s best known for his work with ultra-popular group Big Bang, there′s no denying that G-Dragon is recognizable even without his group members.
Though he just turned 24, G-Dragon has a slew of number one hits, both with Big Bang and without, has become noted as one of the most fashionable idols in the biz, and is acclaimed for being a songwriter and producer.
This past week, the young star released his One of a Kind video, which has already hit over 9 million views (and is very close to hitting 10 million) - and that′s not all he′s been doing.
He′s been named as the head producer behind YG′s mysterious new girl group, taken over charts with THAT XX , which also racked up over 2 million views on Youtube, and celebrated Big Bang′s 6th anniversary.

[NEWS] G-Dragon Competes with Himself in ‘That XX’ MV
Completely contrasting the exciting hip-hop vibe in the One of a Kind video, Big Bang’s G-Dragon finally released the music video for ‘That XX.’
Released at midnight on September 1, That XX, singing of a man who has a secret crush on a girl who already has a boyfriend, has a prominent and smooth acoustic melody decorated with G-Dragon’s unique voice.
The song was voluntarily rated-R by G-Dragon but in the music video version, the profanity was beeped out.
The video also featured YG Entertainment’s trainee, Jennie Kim, acting as G-Dragon’s counterpart and G-Dragon playing both of the male characters
The new track immediately sprung up to the number one spot on several online music charts, successfully achieving an all-kill for the real-time charts.

[NEWS] G-Dragon Shoots Down Charts with ‘That XX’
G-Dragon’s That XX took over music charts despite its R rating.
That XX pulled down Gangnam Style, by G-Dragon’s label mate Psy, and continued the YG legacy of all-kills.
A rep from YG Entertainment said, “G-Dragon is the first singer to have a song that willingly got an R rating top the charts in an all-kill. Though this phenomenon we can see that, contrary to beliefs that G-Dragon or Big Bang’s fans will mostly be in their teens, there are actually a great number of fans in their 20s and 30s.”
That XX has been gathering issues with its surprising decisions. Even before it was put up for a ratings evaluation, it willingly took up an R rating, getting fans curious on what the ‘XX’ in the title could mean.
The song, however, turned out to be a mellow single played with an acoustic guitar. The lyrics are about how a man looks on as his love continues to believe in her boyfriend, although he continuously cheats on her, and is hurt by how she doesn’t look back at him.
G-Dragon appeared in the music video as the man who has a crush and also as the cheating boyfriend. Jennie Kim, member of YG’s upcoming girl group, also starred in the music video, making her first public debut.
