[NEWS] BIGBANG took 54th rank selected by American Forbes… 3rd highest among boy groups around the world
BIGBANG took the 54th place in American economy magazine Forbes’ highest-paid celebrities list for 2016.
Forbes unveiled the list of top 100 highest-paid celebrities for 2016, on July 11. According to Forbes, BIGBANG’s earnings in 2016 were 44 million dollars (approximately 50.5 billion Korean won). Forbes said, “BIGBANG’s comparable to One Direction and Backstreet Boys and the world tour helped BIGBANG’s high earnings”.
BIGBANG took higher rank than Ben Affleck (43 million dollars, 58th rank), Elton John (42 million, 61st), and Katy Perry (41 million, 63rd). Among boy bands, BIGBANG took the third highest rank following Backstreet Boys and One Direction. In the entire list, pop singer Taylor Swift and boy band One Direction took the top and second places, respectively.
Before the release of the highest-paid celebrities list, Forbes shed big spotlight on the scale of BIGBANG’s concert in the States in 2015 and the team’s earnings by posting an article titled, “BIGBANG Theory: How K-Pop’s Top Act Earned $44 Million In A Year”.
BIGBANG is the first Korean artist who put his name in Forbes Celebrity 100 list. The article will be published in Forbes magazine on the 26 this month.
