[NEWS] “BIGBANG took 3rd place in American TIME magazine’s “TIME 100” poll
American news magazine TIME shed spotlight on BIGBANG who is staying in the third place in the poll for “2016 TIME 100”.
On the 31 this month, American news magazine TIME focused on BIGBANG’s popularity in an article titled “This K-Pop Group Is Blowing Up the TIME 100 Poll” published on its website. TIME explained, “Big Bang, a South Korean boy band that’s currently in third place with 2.2 percent of the vote (that’s more than Beyoncé and Taylor Swift combined).”
TIME went on to say, “The annual TIME 100 reader poll is typically dominated by current world leaders, and this year is no exception: President Obama, Aung San Suu Kyi, Pope Francis and Bernie Sanders—who currently has the most votes of all—are among the poll’s frontrunners. But there’s one name that has little in common with the others in the top spots: Big Bang… They’ve been around for 10 years and have played arenas across North America thanks to their large and fervent international fan base.”
TIME also mentioned CL who is another artist of YG Entertainment, saying, “This is not the first time a K-pop star has taken readers’ hearts in the TIME 100 poll. Last year, CL, a member of the girl group 2NE1 and now also a solo artist in her own right… This year, though, CL in 25th place on the poll…”
TIME magazine selects “TIME 100” which is a list of 100 most influential people in the world every year. The on-line poll for “2016 TIME 100” will end on April 10, and the official list of “2016 TIME 100” will be unveiled on the 21 next month.
