[Music Talk Talk] BIGBANG is going an untrodden way

It is another unprecedented record.

Group BIGBANG has written another unprecedented record. As soon as BIGBANG became the first Korean boy group who has two music videos that hit 100 million views, the number reached 200 million. All these unprecedented records written by BIGBANG proves BIGBANG’s standing as the best boy group in Korea.

The music video of “BANG BANG BANG” released last year hit 100 million views on YouTube on the 19 this month. That record was set right after the 100 million view mark achieved by the video of “FANTASTIC BABY” posted on YouTube on March 6, 2012. BIGBANG is now the first-ever Korean boy group whose two music videos reached 100 million views on YouTube successively.

Then, as of the 26 at 9:35pm, the music video of “FANTASTIC BABY” surpassed 200 million views, to write yet another record. That made BIGBANG the only Korean boy group who has record-high number of views and the first-ever 200 million view mark on YouTube. As BIGBANG is a special boy group who goes an untrodden way, the value of the group has created such unprecedented records.

Notably, BIGBANG released single albums from May to August last year in their “MADE” project, to sweep all major music charts every month. It is not too much to say that music charts were all dominated by BIGBANG last year, to the extent that some people even said the music scene last year was dominated by the competition between BIGBANG’s song and another BIGBANG song.

“BANG BANG BANG” took No.1 on the 2015 yearly chart of Korea’s biggest music-streaming website Melon. With “LOSER” ranked in the sixth place and “BAE BAE” ranked in seventh, BIGBANG succeeded in ranking three of their songs in top 10. Three of BIGBANG’s songs released last year are ranked in top 10 on Gaon’s yearly chart as well.

All those records set by BIGBANG are history of Korea’s music scene. It was BIGBANG who coined the term “mini-album” and who took No.1 on Melon chart for five weeks in a row with “Lollipop”, a jingle for a TV commercial. G-DRAGON’s solo album “Heartbreaker” succeeded in ranking all the songs in it in top places of charts. BIGBANG is also the first Korean singer who covered the main page of Grammy.com. BIGBANG’s “ALIVE” released in 2012 is the first album in the Korean language that entered the main chart of Billboard.

BIGBANG’s enormous popularity that never ends in the 11th year since their debut is a proof of their limitless potential.
