[NEWS] Happy on the 1 of every month thanks to BIGBANG

It is just as expected. BIGBANG is making music fans happy on the 1 of every month. BIGBANG has proven their power once again, sweeping music charts in and out of the country with their new album “D” released in the beginning of July.

“D”, the third album of BIGBANG’s “MADE” series, was unveiled on July 1 at 0 o’clock. The album’s songs “IF YOU” and “SOBER” are sweeping music charts’ No.1 and No.2 places upon their release, on Korea’s eight biggest music-streaming website: Melon, Mnet, Olleh, Genie, Bugs, Soribada, NAVER Music, and Monkey 3. BIGBANG set such a record for three consecutive months, following May and June.

“IF YOU” drew much attention even before its release, as it was known as the saddest song in the history of BIGBANG. A calm guitar melody, tender voices of the four members, and sad lyrics mingle together, expressing BIGBANG’s unique feel so well.

Plus, “SOBER” is a cool song that perfectly fits with the summer season, which makes listeners dance naturally with a cheerful and exciting rhythm that contrasts with that of “IF YOU”.

The new songs swept foreign charts as well. BIGBANG’s new album “D” set a surprising record, by taking the No.1 on iTunes single chart of 16 countries including Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. They also created sensation in the Western world, taking the fourth place in the United States’ chart and the 22nd place in the U.K.’s chart.

As it always was, the new music videos are also creating sensation. The music video of “SOBER” released with the music itself surpassed 1 million views on YouTube immediately, recording 1,140,237 views within eight hours from release. The video catches the eyes with a uniquely cool and cheerful atmosphere. Against the background of green nature, BIGBANG members’ carefree movements are depicted in the video in a variety of colors.

Notably, the music videos of “LOSER”, “BAE BAE”, “BANG BANG BANG”, and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” have surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, and now they are ready to go forward to set a new record.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG releases a single album with more than one songs from May to August this year, to finally release complete “MADE” album on September 1.

BIGBANG is also having world tour in line with performances for their new songs. A concert will be held in Thailand on July 11 and 12, and then BIGBANG will continue with the world tour to meet 1.4 million fans around the world in 70 concerts in 15 countries including the United States and Canada.
