[NEWS] G-DRAGON Received “Most Popular International Artist Award” at Chinese Music Awards
Idol boy band BIGBANG (G-DRAGON, T.O.P, TAEYANG, DAE SUNG, AND SEUNGRI)’s member G-DRAGON received “Most Popular International Artist Award” at Todou Young Choice Music Awards hosted by YOUKU, the biggest video-streaming web-site in China.
According to G-DRAGON’s agency YG ENTERTAINMENT on the 21 this month, G-DRAGON received the Most Popular International Artist Award at 1st Tudou Young Choice Music Awards, hosted by YOUKU Tudou Group, Chinese version of YouTube, at Beijing Olympic Stadium in the afternoon on the 20.
At the awards, G-DRAGON received a trophy and said, “I thank Youku Tudou and Shenzhen TV who give me this precious award and I’m honored. I thank and love all Chinese fans who give me such a big support.”
An insider of the awards said, “About 10,000 spectators and officers of China’s leading entertainment agencies attended the awards. Plus, more than 500 fans gathered at the airport to see G-DRAGON coming to China, which proved his high popularity in China.”
On the day, G-DRAGON staged special performance of two songs in his second full solo album, “COUP D’ETAT” and “NILIRIA”.
China’s leading MC Lixiang and Dazuo and Channel V’s famous MC Lichen hosted the show as MCs. Zhang Jie who has emerged as a popular singer after winning an audition program in 2004, Zhou Bichang, China’s most influential female singer, and Wu Qi Long, China’s super star who has been popular as a singer and actor at the same time since his debut as boy band The Little Tigers, also took part in the awards.
Meanwhile, G-DRAGON will attend 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards, the end-of-year music awards hosted by Mnet, on the 22 in Hong Kong. G-DRAGON has also kicked off BIGBANG’s Japan 6 dome tour concert in the 16, starting from a concert at Osaka Kyocera Dome.
