As chosen by foreign students who are learning Korean and about Korean culture, BIGBANG, Girls’ Generation, and Super Junior were named the most well-known.
On October 15, Congressman Yoo Gi Hong of the National Assembly Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, revealed the results of a survey taken by 604 foreign students, who are learning Korean at the King Sejong Institute. The survey was to see how much foreigners in Korea knew about Korean culture.
At top was BIGBANG with 18.3 percent of the votes, followed by SNSD with 15.1 percent. Super Junior was next with 13.9, EXO with 11.1 and TVXQ with 8.9.
Also on the list were Psy (8.3), 2NE1 (7.6), CN Blue (6.8), 2PM (6.4) and Shinhwa (5.8).
Around 66.1 percent of the participants learned of Korean culture through K-Pop, movies, and dramas.
