[NEWS] G-DRAGON’s bloody MV of ‘Coup d’état’: sensational as expected

BIGBANG’s leader G-DRAGON officially released a sensational music video of ‘COUP D’ETAT’.

G-DRAGON’s entertainment agency released on its official blog on September 2 the music video of COUP D’ETAT which is part of his 2nd regular album. The MV is drawing explosive response from GD’s international fans.

Seo Hyun Seung, who was in charge of GD’s ‘GO’, ‘ONE OF A KIND’ and BIGBANG’s ‘Fantastic Baby’ music videos, once again directed GD’s new MV. It leaves a very powerful impression with vivid colors and GD’s empowering eyes.

COUP D’ETAT draws attention with its sensational and provocative images. The teaser image that was revealed on August 27 aroused much attention with its experimental visual aids, including a black face of a white mask and a vividly red suit. This rightly portrays the heavy beat of COUP D’ETAT and the provocative and straight-forward contents of the song. It is a perfect depiction of GD himself.

GD, in the 2 day concert which was held on August 31 for G-DRAGON 2013 World Tour ONE OF A KIND: The FINAL, performed ‘COUP D’ETAT’ and ‘CROOKED’ for the first time in front of his fans. These two songs are from his 2nd regular album, which he released after 4 long years since the previous one. His revelation upped the expectations of the fans greatly.

Along with his music video, he released 5 songs in total from track #1 to #5, including the double title songs ‘BLACK’ and ‘WHO YOU?’. On September 5, he will be releasing the rest of the songs from the track list (#6 – #12), including ‘Crooked’. On September 13, his regular album that holds 14 tracks, which include different versions of ‘Window’ and ‘Black’ will be released.

The most attractive point of the album is that it features world famous musicians. America’s hip-hop legend Missy Elliott participated in ‘Niliria’, while Diplo and Baauer, who swept across YouTube with the famous ‘Harlem Shake’, were involved in ‘Coup d’état’. Also, Germany’s famous DJ Boys Noise features in ‘I Love It’ while singer-song-writer Sky Ferreira does the same in the title song ‘Black’.

All eyes are on G-DRAGON to see if he can bring another wave of sensation the music world after his remarkable 2 day concert on August 31 and September 1.
