[NEWS] BIGBANG A BIG HIT IN TAIWAN
Big Bang received a warm welcome from its fans in Taiwan.
Big Bang arrived at the Taoyuan airport on April 9 and was greeted by more than 1,200 fans, who gathered there to catch a glimpse of the idol group. Moreover, Big Bang’s arrival was broadcast live by the Taiwanese media outlets as if it was breaking news.
Many of the fans at the airport held placards that read ‘Please hold a concert in Taiwan,′ revealing their desire to see Big Bang perform in Taiwan.
The next day, Big Bang held its official press conference at Taipei 101, where broadcasting stations such as CTV, CTS, FTV and TTV were present, as well as reporters from The China Times and Liberty Times. All in all, there were well over 100 press officials from various media outlets.
Big Bang said through its spokesperson, “This is our first time visiting Taiwan, and we didn’t know there were going to be this many fans. It was truly surprising. We are currently holding our world tour, and we will make sure to include a performance in Taiwan.”
Big Bang also received a commemorative plaque from the CEO of the greater China region’s Warner Music thanks to the success of its albums, 4.5 Special Edition and Alive, which reached platinum and double platinum status, respectively, in Taiwan.
In addition, the fans prepared a special event for Daesung, whose birthday is coming up on April 26, even singing happy birthday in Korean.
Soon after its release in Taiwan, Alive quickly rose to the top of KK Box, G-Music, Five Music, as well as the other main music charts. The mini album also reached the top of various digital and mobile music websites.
In the meantime, Big Bang’s Daesung and Seungri will showcase their wit to viewers once again with their appearance as MCs on SBS’ Inkigayo on April 15.
