[NEWS] Big Bang Concert to Air on TV

Didn’t make it to Big Bang’s Big Show? Well the concert is going to air on TV and will be shared by YG, so you’ll get to see everything you missed out on - and probably more!Big Bang met with its fans through its 2012 Big Show/Big Bang Alive Tour from March 2-4 in Seoul.

The Big Show concert, which gathered interest as the group’s first performance since the release on February 29 of its already successful fifth mini album Alive, will be airing on SBS on March 9.The Seoul concert marked the start of Big Bang’s world tour, which will be touring 16 countries with a total of 25 concerts, and was perfected in the hands of Laurieann Gibson, a director who previously worked with famed musicians the likes of Lady Gaga, and a dream team comprised of renowned staff members from across the globe in charge of lighting, stage, videos and live sessions. After Big Bang performed its new singles in its concert, many fans started to look forward to seeing the performances on televised broadcasts. At this, a rep from YG Entertainment told enews, “Big Bang’s comeback will not be made through SBS’ Inkigayo, but a Big Bang Comeback Show, a show which will show the group’s concert performances.”The rep added, “The Big Bang Comeback Show, which will broadcast the group’s concert performances, will also be made available through global channels such as MTV, YG’s official blog and our Youtube channel so that many more global fans can see Big Bang’s comeback performance.”Big Bang concerts are known for selling out so fast that even acquaintances of the staff and members find it hard to get tickets, and also for racking up big profits not only through ticket sales but also DVD sales. Considering the big profits it could make, it’s fairly shocking that YG Entertainment made the decision to release the performance videos free of charge.“We believed that it would be difficult to promote Big Bang’s album, which has named all of its singles promotional singles, through normal music shows in which singers can only sing one song per week. We came up with this idea while trying to think of a more efficient method of promotion. The Big Bang Comeback Show will select performances, mostly of the new singles, out of the group’s world tour and air it with interviews of the members. The group will then, in the future, be appearing in specialized music programs like SBS’ late night music program U&I, hosted by Lee Hyori and Jung Jae Hyung,” the rep said. The rep also added, “We’re also trying to prepare many special programs with the music channel Mnet. We plan to open up those programs through all available internet channels too so that overseas fans can watch.”Most programs from broadcasts are tied down by copyright laws, making it difficult for them to be uploaded on the internet. But in the case of such content like the Big Bang concert, which has copyrights owned by YG Entertainment but is now also tied to a broadcasting system at the same time, they can be used freely if the agency reaches an agreement with the broadcasting system. Through such methods, YG Entertainment is aiming to pull out all the stops in promoting Big Bang to the world. So keep checking up on YG’s Youtube channel and webpage, because soon you’ll be able to see the members of Big Bang sing and dance on clean video.
