[NEWS] YG, To Establish Branch Offices In United States And Hong Kong
The company responsible for hot sensations, Big Bang and 2NE1, YG Entertainment is starting on their world-wide advancement. On the 15th, it was revealed that YG is closer to launching their branch offices, and would be establishing “YG USA” a branch office for their artists’ US advancement, while “YG Hong Kong” would be for their Asian market advancement.
YG has been preparing for world-wide advancement since spring of last year, a YG official reported, and this spring, they are hard at work in their preparations for the establishment of their branch offices in the United States and Hong Kong, and has made this announcement in advance of their formal launching.
The YG branch offices in the US and Hong Kong would be working hand in hand with the domestic agency to help the company’s artists in their overseas expansions. Unlike the traditional way of hiring competent coordinators in the country where they will be advancing into, this way of advancement would allow the artists to work with their own domestic company’s branch offices’ staff.
Meanwhile, YG has been extensively using YouTube and social networking systems like Twitter, as marketing tools. Through this, their artists like Big Bang, have topped the charts in iTunes and other international music charts, even without any overseas activities and promotions. With a branch office like YG USA, their artists like idol groups, Big Bang and 2NE1, would be supported by full-time personnel and the necessary manpower, to bring their music into a more international market, and is expected to also make their fanbases increase in number.

[NEWS] Big Bang Pairs Up With Lady Gaga's Creative Director Laurieann Gibson
BREAKING: K-Pop is officially taking over the world. One of our fave fashion-y Korean boy bands Big Bang (you know, those awesome dudes who wore Minx nails) announced that they're collaborating with creative director/choreographer Laurieann Gibson for their upcoming tour. Laurieann is known for her fresh approach to performance art, and you're probably already very familiar with her work, like Lady Gaga's choreography in "Telephone," "Alejandro," and "Born This Way," just to name a few. Her work was also highlighted in the "Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden," which earned Mother Monster five Grammy nominations, but the two confirmed their split in late 2011 due to creative differences. Laurieann had TONS of nice things to say about G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung and Seungri like, "I’m touched at how hard they work despite their young age. They are talented and special." Awww. She continued, "G-Dragon and T.O.P are especially outstanding. Seungri is strong for his young age. Daesung is like a rocker: passionate and hardworking. Lastly, Taeyang reminds me of Michael Jackson.” But, um, can we discuss what's going on in this photo above? There is SO much fash-happenings here we can barely handle it.
Big Bang's stylist Gee Eun created their customized coats and sneakers. The varsity jackets were made from Hermès graffiti scarves and leather, and the shoes are metallic snakeskin high-top boots with studs on the toe. Like, there's glitter, ombre, and an iridescent glow all wrapped up in one shoe. Uhhh, hai, we're gonna need a pair of those A.S.A.P. All the boys opted for different pants ranging from leopard print cuffed trousers to bleached skinny jeans to shiny leather bottoms. Laurieann looked equally badass in a brown wide-brimmed hat, gold-button blazer, patchwork leggings and stiletto ankle booties. To catch these cuties IRL, look out for their North American tour dates—they are stopping through 16 countries and 25 cities, which means TONS of amazing performance outfits to look forward to. [NEWS] Big Bang Blows Up on Grammy Awards Homepage
From the top of the K-Pop music charts to the Billboard 200 chart, idol group Big Bang is undoubtedly making its mark in the global music industry, most recently making the main page of the Grammy Awards website.

[NEWS] Big Bang to Record Giant Sales Numbers
Big Bang will be raking in the big bucks by earning over 20 billion won with its Japan tour.
Big Bang came back with its new mini album Alive on February 29 and its exclusive concert, which took place from March 2-4.
The group will be following up the Seoul concert with a five city tour in Japan in May and June, and will also be releasing an album in Japan on March 28. As such, Big Bang is expected to score a huge success in the country and record equally impressive numbers in sales in the process.
Jung Yoo Suk, a researcher at LIG Investment & Securities, said, “The Japanese newspaper Sankei Sports reported that Big Bang’s first concert for its world tour was successful. The group will also be releasing an album in Japan on February 28,” showing that he held favorable views about the future of the group in Japan.
“The price of the tickets was 9,500 yen, 26.7 percent higher than the 7,500 yen we originally estimated them to be, and so the estimated sales from the tickets for the 10 concerts will come close to between 18 billion and 26 billion won,” the researcher added.
This means that experts are expecting Big Bang to soar higher in 2012 with its activities in Korea and Japan after overcoming its obstacles from last year.
Lee Sang Heon, researcher from Hi Investment Securities, also said, “We’re expecting YG Entertainment’s overseas royalty sales to start up full-scale thanks to Big Bang and 2NE1. We believe YG will meet its highest performance numbers this year due to the increase in sales of overseas royalties, which yield high profits.”
