[NEWS] BIGBANG TO ANNOUNCE AS THE EXCLUSIVE MODEL FOR GMARKET IN 2012
Gmarket announced an agreement with the exclusive model consisting of the five members of BIGBANG, G-Dragon, TOP, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri. BIGBANG will begin with the full activities for a new model of Gmarket in January.
BIGBANG will appear on TV CF, Gmarket website, online advertising, outdoor advertising and off-line media as the main model of Gmarket in 2012. The five members's personality are highly skilled so they are chosen as the main model of Gmarket in 2012 for the target of young customer 20 to 30.
Kim So Jeong Gmarket's vice president said "the members of BIGBANG are distinct personality and unique sense of fashion by trendy youth. They become a symbol as the icon of an era. They will appeal the young customer 20 to 30 in order to get the large marketing share and improve our brand image."

[NEWS] YG updates fans on Big Bang’s March comeback progress
YG Entertainment previously announced that Big Bang was gearing up for a Korean comeback in March of 2012.
On December 23rd, representatives followed up by revealing that the album will contain several new songs written during the boys’ period of reflection. A representative expressed, “Big Bang has composed many songs during their period of reflection this year. They’ll be choosing a few of them to include in their March release next year.”
He continued, “The title track is currently in the process of being chosen, and the music video filming will take place in January. All of the members are working diligently on the album’s production.”
As reported previously, their comeback will take place ahead of their "Big Show" concert.

This is our seventh annual Soompi Gayo Awards event to recognize the top performers in Korean music in 2011, and we promise this year’s awards will be the best. Once again, the 2011 Soompi Gayo Awards will be announced on New Year's Eve, December 31.
To take this award to the next level, we are proud to partner with MYX TV for the first time this year, and they will broadcast the award show on January 10, 2012.
As always, we take pride in achieving a fair result by utilizing many different sources for our music chart. We expect these awards to be given to the artists whose songs achieved the highest popularity in Korea this year. The awards categories will be the same as last year, except we merge the mixed group and duet awards into one single award. Once again, you, the fans, will vote for the Top 10 Singers of 2011!
For the Top 10 Singers of 2011, you will be voting from 40 singers who have been in the music industry for more than one year and have received the highest scores combined on our weekly music chart in 2011. From this pool, you can vote for three singers. Your first choice will receive five points, second choice three points, and third choice one point. Like last year, each member can vote every 24 hours. If we discover any cheating, we reserve the right to abandon the results of the voting. The voting deadline is December 28, 11:59 PM PST. Your votes will count for 40%, while the other 60% will be based on the singers' accumulated chart scores
Apart from the Top 10 Singers award, the awards below are based on our music chart performances only. Here are the nominees:
Album of the Year: The full album that accumulated the highest overall score on all its songs. Note that if a song is first released as a digital single and later included in a singer's full album, the song's score as a digital single will also be counted towards the full album score.
