[NEWS] Billboard Says BIGBANG are “at their most tender…and at their craziest” with Their New Singles

The Billboard magazine of the US praised BIGBANG’s new singles noting that they show the boy band “at their most sentimental” and “at their wildest”.

On August 5, Billboard reported that BIGBANG’s “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” shows BIGBANG’s “signature mix of melancholy and dance beats” and that although it “sounds like classic BIGBANG,” it is “unique” with T.O.P and G-DRAGON “showing off their new vocal colors.” Billboard also praised “ZUTTER” saying it is a “minimal, hip-hop cut peppered with trappy snares, knocking percussion and woozy synths to emphasize both dudes’ distinctive spitting styles.”

About the MVs for the new singles, Billboard said that the MV for “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” shows “bittersweet moments of the boys with their ladies” and the MV for “ZUTTER” shows G-DRAGON and T.O.P “at their most inhibited” and is crazier than the “BAE BAE” MV.

The singles that Billboard praised are tracks for BIGBANG’s “E” album – the fourth album of their MADE series. With their new singles, BIGBANG took the top two slots on the daily charts of Melon, Bugs Music, Mnet, Genie, Naver Music, Olleh Music, Monkey3, and Soribada on August 6. BIGBANG also topped the iTunes Singles Chart in Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indoneisa, proving their huge popularity abroad.

The MVs for “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” and “ZUTTER”, which were released at the same time with the singles, posted 4,228,782 and 3,791,948 views respectively on YouTube as of 2:30 PM on August 6. Surpassing eight million views when combined, BIGBANG’s new singles are also rocking the online music scene.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG’s “IF YOU” – which was released in July – took the No.1 spot on Gaon’s monthly digital chart. Since BIGBANG ranked first with “LOSER” in May and with “BANG BANG BANG” in June, this is the third consecutive month that the boy band topped Gaon’s monthly digital chart.

BIGBANG will appear in SBS’s Inkigayo on August 9 to showcase their new singles.
