BIGBANG’s member G-DRAGON has proven his popularity in China as a Korean Wave star.
According to Chinese media outlet Shin Min Wang on the 30 last month, G-DRAGON was picked by the Chinese people as the “No.1 Korean star whom they want to spend the new year’s holiday with”.
Shin Min Wang began a vote on the 17 last month, under the title of “Which Korean star do you want to spend the new year’s holiday with?”. In the vote that had been carried out for about two weeks, G-DRAGON came in the top place by earning 19% of votes.
Actor Kim Soo Hyun was put in the second place and EXO’s LUHAN in the third place, garnering 17% and 16% of votes respectively. Other than them, Nickkhun of 2PM, Lee Hong-ghi of FT Island, Chris of EXO, Park Yoochun of JYJ, actor Lee Minho, and actor Jang Geun Suk also gained votes from Chinese fans.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG held their solo concert from the 24 to 26 last month at Olympic Park’s Gymnastics Hall located in Seoul. BIGBANG has announced that they will come back with a regular album in this coming summer.
