G-DRAGON discloses the music video of “WHO YOU”, one of the title tracks of his second full solo album, at 8:08pm on the 13.
In the morning on the day, a teaser image that suggests release of the music video of G-DRAGON’s “WHO YOU” was posted on YG’s official blog (www.yg-life.com). A phrase “G-DRAGON WHO YOU! MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE ON NOVEMBER 13TH PM 08.08” was written on the teaser image, which is drawing much attention from fans.
The timing of the release, “8:08” has a special meaning. Number 8 has a very symbolic meaning not only for G-DRAGON but also his fans, because G-DRAGON has expressed affection for number 8 as his lucky number, as he was born on August 18, 1988.
The music video attracted further attention, for the fact that 1,000 fans took part in it. G-DRAGON shot the music video with those fans on the 10 this month at KINTEX located in Ilsan in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province. The fans directly participated in the shooting and G-DRAGON’s images taken by those fans were gathered and edited to produce the music video, so it has a very special meaning.
There have been some cases where fans of a singer appear in his/her music video as audience, but G-DRAGON’s music video is a very extraordinary case where fans take part in the “shooting” of the music video itself.
Unique spectacles including special sets made of 50m-long transparent glass and G-DRAGON’s private car appear in the video, to catch eyes of many fans. It is drawing more attention, as G-DRAGON in fascinating outfits that live up to his reputation as a fashionista will appear in the video.
“WHO YOU” has been competing with “BLACK”, another title of G-DRAGON’s second full solo album, on music charts upon being released, and the song has been very popular as it has topped music shows so far.
G-DRAGON kicks off his solo performance in Japan on the 27, and then joins BIGBANG for six dome tour concert in Japan.
