[NEWS] YG Ent. Reveals Operating Profits of 15 Billion Won in Last 9 Months
YG Entertainment is, so far, having a stellar year.
The agency revealed on November 15 that over the first three quarters of 2012 (from January to September of this year), YG Entertainment had earned a total of 15 billion won in business profits.
The earnings were roughly 17 percent higher than the 12.8 billion won YG Entertainment had earned in the first three quarters of the previous year and with still another quarter left before the end of 2012, YG Entertainment can confidently say it had a robust year.
Se7en kicked off the successful year with the release of his second mini album in February with the title song, Even if I Can’t Sing taking first place on many online music charts and even in the iTunes R&B charts of America and Canada.
Big Bang followed with the release of its fifth mini album, Alive in the same month which went on to sell over 260,000 copies.
The summer was then largely dominated by new music from 2NE1 and Psy with the latter going on to become a global super star. Closing out the third quarter was G-Dragon’s first solo album in three years, One of a Kind which also reigned atop the charts.
The reported profits from YG Entertainment doesn’t take into account the new albums from Epik High and Lee Hi which are also proving to be major hits.
