Anniversary and special concerts highlighted the two weekend music programs while boy band Big Bang was named a winner on one of the shows.
The special feature of the day was "Legend of Music Bank" that had veteran and new idol singers re-perform hit songs of the 90s.
Boy band INFINITE sang to male group Shinhwa’s song, girl group 4minute re-enacted songstress BoA’s dance number and rock band CNBLUE performed the rock version of ballad singer Jo Sung-mo’s song.
Long-standing idol group such as TVXQ featured their own past hits while male band GOD got back together for the occasion to re-perform their hit songs after years of pursuing their activities individually.
Separately, the show named Big Bang’s “LOVE SONG” the winner of the week followed by CNBLUE’s “Intuition” at second and K.will’s “My Heart Beating” at third.
The program which opened on June 16, 1998 is currently being aired to 54 nations since August last year via KBS World Channel.
In the meantime, SBS’ music show “Inkigayo” launched a mega-scale concert on Korea’s southern island of Jeju on Sunday, prepared as part of promoting the “Visit Korea Year (2010-2012)."
