[NEWS] BIGBANG mentioned on America’s CNBC article about the K-Pop Phenomena
As yet another sign of K-Pop going global, the American news outlet, CNBC, has published an article on the K-Pop phenomena.
An article was published titled, ‘Move Over Bieber – Korean Pop Music Goes Global’ on July 16 in CNBC’s ‘Investing in South Korea’ section.
In it, the article mentions Big Bang , 2ne1 and Girls’ Generation and talks about the frenzy that these idol groups are creating writing the groups are, “selling out concerts within minutes worldwide, breaking through Billboard music charts and even being featured on postage stamps in Korea.”
The article also covers the growing profits and economic windfall K-Pop is generating, citing figures such as K-Pop’s industry revenues being some $3.4 billion in 2011 and also revealed K-Pop’s exports have grown annually, on average, 80 percent since 2007.

Following after the footsteps of his childhood best friend Taeyang, Big Bang’s G-Dragon has joined the social networking site, Twitter.
G-Dragon created an account with the name ‘IBGDRGN’ on July 17 at approximately 7AM (KST). By 9AM (KST), G-Dragon had close to 60,000 followers and three tweets, shouting out to Taeyang and YG producer, Choice37, as well as one announcing that he has no idea what is what on Twitter.

A list of idol groups and members and what could have become their official stage names is attracting much attention among Korean netizens.
Recently on an online community site, a posting was made with the title ‘Idol’s original stage names’.
Included was a list of idol groups and members and their amusing, and some downright hilarious, stage names that they could have made famous.
Many idol groups also originally planned to debut with different stage names with Big Bang originally being called ‘Diamond’
Within Big Bang, T.O.P’s stage name was originally conceived as ‘Mark’, Daesung as ‘Big Castle’, Seungri’ as ‘Sonic’ and Taeyang as ‘Taekwon’.

[NEWS] BIGBANG'S M/Vs RANK ON TOP 10 MOST WATCHED K-POP MV FOR 1st HALF OF 2012
Many stellar K-Pop music videos were released on YouTube in the past six months but for those of you wondering which ones were the biggest hits, wonder no more!
YouTube released its top 10 most watched K-Pop music videos for the first half of 2012 on July 16.
Two lists were released with one taking into account the most watched music videos in Korea and the other, the most watched worldwide.
In the global list, Big Bang’s Fantastic Baby topped the ranking with over 33 million views (as of the chart’s posting). Following was another Big Bang song, Blue while Big Bang′s tracks Bad Boy and Monster also placed fourth and sixth on the list respectively.
On the domestic ranking Big Bang also took the fourth, fifth and eighth spots with Blue, Fantastic Baby and Monster respectively.

[NEWS] YG Entertainment warns fans to be wary of online scam
YG Entertainment warned their fans to be wary of a performance scam on a particular ticketing site.
On July 12th, an insider from YG Entertainment informed OSEN, “GD&TOP will not be performing at a club on the 26th. Please be careful, so that you do not fall victim to a performance scam.”
Ahead of their warning, a ticketing site announced that Steve Aoki would be spinning at club Ellui in Seoul on July 26th, and that GD&TOP would be performing alongside Afrojack.
Club Elluii also reported via their official Facebook page July 12th, “Ellui has nothing to do with the UMF PRE PARTY [allegedly] taking place July 26th, for which [website] is selling tickets. The party is not taking place at any club in Seoul, and we would like to inform you that Ellui will not be hosting this event. We are currently taking legal action, so please be careful not to fall victim to a scam.”
The tickets on the site went for about $43 (50,000 KRW), and VIP rooms for about $867 (1,000,000 KRW).

[NEWS] G-DRAGON TO FEATURE IN PSY'S 6th ALBUM
Psy is making a big return with his new sixth album.
On July 9, Psy revealed his official album track list. A total of six new songs are included in the new album and each song features a high-profile artist including Big Bang’s G-Dragon, LeeSsang, Sung Si Kyung, Yoon Do Hyun, Park Jung Hyun and Kim Jin Pyo.
The new album is titled Psy 6甲 and is intended to mean ‘the best’. The album’s title song Gangnam Style was written, composed and choreographed by the entertaining singer.
The humorous album cover features a caricature of a ‘mermaid Psy’ who twists his body into the shape of the number ‘6’. A mini cartoon version of YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk inside a bubble and wearing an inner tube and hat can be spotted within Psy’s body and tail.
Regarding the comeback, a representative for Psy shared, “Within the past two years, Psy made full preparations and put in a wide range of colors into the album.”
The agency added that the album has been split into two parts with the first part to be released online on July 15 along with the music video for Gangnam Style.

GD:Flames and dragon balls.(laugh)
Q2:What do you think when u r on the stage?
GD:I dun think anything so after the end of every live,I cannot even remember what I have sung.
Q3:When u r writing lyrics,u put in ur own emotions?
GD:Yes,it is always like this.My real story plus fictional stories.
Q4:Are there anything bad happened to ur life?
GD:What appears in the songs would appear in my life,eg,if there is lyrics like ‘make love’in the songs, I would really fall in luv.
Q5.if you have to describe each member of BB as an animal?
GD:Sol is like a faithful lion, VI is like suricate by looking at his face. Dlite is like a sea urchin,after eating it once, you cannot stop loving it.TOP is a black jaguar and I am a fox.
Q6: Did u have a nickname when u were small?
GD:hammer!When I went to a fd’s home, I brought nails n a hammer n I nailed the nails.

GD:I have not brought a bag today and I always forget to bring along my things.

GD:I am naked at home.I am joking(laugh)When I am at home, I wear relaxing in comfortable clothes, eg. T-shirt and cotton sport trousers.

GD:I think my eyes r getting smaller.When I was small, I thought my eyes were quite big. (laugh)

GD: Being waken up when I am sleeping.

GD: it will be good to be waken up by a kiss of a pretty girl. XD
