[NEWS] Big Bang Will Carry out Promotional Activities in Japan and Korea Concurrently
On the morning of March 13th,a staff member of YGE made a phone call with OSEN news. They stated "When Big Bang makes their comeback in Japan on the 28th, they will promote in Japan and Korea at the same time. Big Bang will start their Japanese promotions in the following week, but they will also continue to carry out their promotional activities in Japan, Korea and several other countries at the same time."
Big Bang will be releasing a Japanese album which consists of 9 songs (those from the "ALIVE" album as well as 2 new ones). All of the lyrics and melodies were composed by G-Dragon.
G-Dragon shared his feelings through the local press, "We are back to producing good music and are focused on improving our stage performance. Big Bang members are expected to develop their own colors. Last year, there were several things that hapened, and now we can realize the importance of fans, the stage and music. We are grateful and sorry to the fans. Now, we will try to not make them worry and hope that they will be able to find us through our albums and concerts."
After the release of their album, Big Bang is going to start their concert tour from 17th of May in 5 Japan cities and a total of 130,000 people are expected to participate.
On 31st, they will participate in 'Spring Groove' Hip Hop festival in Japan with 2NE1.

[NEWS] BIGBANG,K-POP ROYALTY SPEAK TO FANS WITH "FANTASTIC BABY"
Isn't it wonderful when your idol does not only create good music but also produce a work of art that speaks straight to you?
Hallyu stars Big Bang has done it again. The group's latest MV "Fantastic Baby" is a beautifully shot video with a slew of symbolic images that communicates straight to the heart of their fans--the VIPs. It is a well-known fact that Big Bang, one of the top (if not the top) K-Pop acts, suffered a number of publicity blows in the past year including the car accident involving member Daesung and the drug-related incident involving leader G. Dragon. Throughout all of the negative publicity and discouragement, the VIPs gave the group unending support and the "Fantastic Baby" video is obviously a tribute to them. Let us reflect and dissect some of the major symbolic highlights of the video.
The VIPs: Big Bang's Soldiers
In "Fantastic Baby," the story starts with a clear revolution aimed at stopping music symbolized by the simplified version of the Big Bang skull logo with a slash. The black masked persons refer to Big Bang's haters who capitalized on the past controversies and tried to discourage, discredit and ultimately disband the group. The white masked persons refer to the VIPs who continued to defend and protect the Big Bang boys from these attacks. Big Bang was quoted to have said that it was their fans who kept them together and this is a clear acknowledgment of that. During the 2011 MTV Europe Awards where Big Bang took home the "Best Worldwide Act", they expressed that: "This is only because of our fans. Through the ups and downs. Thank you for standing by us."
Big Bang: The Musical Revolutionaries
These three frames of T.O.P. wearing a variety of outfits reminiscent of historical world revolutionaries such as George Washington and Napoleon Bonaparte represent Big Bang as K-Pop's musical revolutionaries. As I had mentioned in my article "Why is Big Bang so Big?," this group lead by the musical genius G-Dragon started the electronica trend that is still very much alive in K-Pop. Their unique and innovative musical style which is much copied but never equaled is evidence that G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P., Daesung, and Seungri are considered as musical revolutionaries not just in K-Pop but in world music as well.
The VIPs: Daesung's Saviors
The image of Daesung in chains is a clear representation of the emotional and psychological torture he experienced last year during the aftermath of his car accident. Daesung, a known Christian, recognized this major crossroad in his life, which as he admitted in the show "Healing Camp," threatened his very will to live. The beautiful image of a falling Daesung gently caught by a sea of white masked VIPs communicates that the support of his fans aided in his healing process.
Big Bang: Silenced and Scarred yet still Unstoppable
The images of a frozen Taeyang, a scarred Seungri, and a seemingly silenced G-Dragon portrays the publicity nightmare the boys faced in the past year. On close-up, G-Dragon's interesting lip art seems to show black leaves representative of his marijuana-related case. It seems to show a subtle artistic image of his admission to the deed. The bloody scratches on Seungri's chest reveal the painful consequences of past trials while the frozen Taeyang who later sits in a meditative pose shows the silent struggle of the members. Despite these somber images, however, Big Bang stayed together and remains strong. The lyrics of "Fantastic Baby" specifically the lines "I'm forever a celebrity," "Feel who I am," and "Can't stop this" ensures fans that the boys are back and they know their place in the industry.
Big Bang: K-Pop Royalty
I have time and time again referred to Big Bang as K-Pop royalty and this image is indeed fitting. I cannot imagine any other K-Pop (except for Shinhwa) group who can have a photo like this taken and not look silly. With their talent, style, influence and longevity, there isn't any doubt that Big Bang is K-Pop royalty and this video is, just like its memorable lyric, "WOW, FANTASTIC BABY!"

[NEWS] Big Bang Makes Hearts Throb, Heads Explode in Seoul
Big Bang just kicked off their Big Bang Alive world Tour last weekend with three sold-out concerts in Seoul in front of more than 30,000 fans. As this is a Korea-focused technology and design blog we dispatched our secret K-pop loving staffer to the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium in southern Seoul to check out the show.
Here’s what she had to say:
Music: Big Bang is always a high energy band to watch. This year they brought in an elite group of instrumental musicians from overseas to liven up their back-up track, the first Korean band to do so at a solo concert. Having live musicians playing behind the band really set this concert apart from other K-pop concerts I’ve been to. While “Hands Up” is still my favourite Big Bang song EVER, I really loved their acoustic performance of “Haru Haru”. Sigh!
Technology: I love Big Bang but I think even people who aren’t fans of the band had a good time at this show. It was pure entertainment. The pyrotechnics were the biggest I’ve ever seen at a concert in Korea and must have required precision planning. The stage extended out into the audience bringing the band closer (YES!) to their fans. And, for people who like the band as much for how it looks as for how it sounds, there were giant Full HD screens on either side of the stage. I’ve never seen screens like that at a concert anywhere before, apart from the Beyoncé concert held at the same venue two years ago.
Design: Fan faves G Dragon and TOP came out, with TOP rocking his blue (!) hair, utilizing 4 different elevator platforms that went up from and down into the stage floor. Dae-sung even flew above the packed stadium audience’s heads on wires with angel wings! So many costume changes, I couldn’t even count and Taeyang at one point even ripped his shirt OFF! You could tell they invested a lot of time and effort into the creative design of the concert, employing giant beach balls with the members inside and rolled over the audience in during the encore – something I’ve only ever really seen at concerts back home in the US.
Overall: The entire experience was incredible, the fans singing along in the glow of their flower-shaped “BB” (for Big Bang!) fluorescent sticks, and the combined energy of the group and their band was really a sight to behold.
And great news for the ever-growing K-pop fan base around the world, as concert production company Live Nation will be promoting and producing the world tour, which will take Big Bang through Asia, North and South America, and Europe, performing in 25 cities in 16 countries.

[NEWS] BIGBANG SUNNY 10 SPARKLINGADE CF BEHIND THE SCENES
BIGBANG’s “Sunny 10 Sparking Ade” commercial has been playing since March 10. The commercial involves BIGBANG at the Incheon airport being part of a flash mob and doing the shuffle dance. On March 13, Sunny 10 released behind the scenes cut of its commercial.
The pictures show BIGBANG practicing, actually dancing, and discussing. It is being said that BIGBANG took care of the choreography for the flash mob.
BIGBANG said of Sunny 10, “We had to dance a lot for the commercial and we drank a lot of Sunny 10. It felt good because the sweet fruit taste is still in our mouths. We are so proud of being the models of Sunny 10, a brand that has been loved for a long time.”

[NEWS] G-DRAGON’S SOLO COMEBACK SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST
Yesterday, it was revealed that G-Dragon was busy working on his next solo comeback with a featuring by Ludacris.
New information was dropped today by industry insiders, with some claiming that he would be making his comeback in August. With his first solo album, ‘Heartbreaker’, having been released around his 22nd birthday on August 18th, 2009, it seems he may be following suit with his second album.
One official stated, “During his hiatus, G-Dragon has been working dilligently on Big Bang's album and his solo work. He will be starting his activities at the same time as his birthday this time as well.”

[NEWS] Soribada organizes a special event to promote Big Bang's 'Alive' album
Soribada has collaborated with YGE to help the promotion of Big Bang's new mini album.
Starting from 23rd of February to 23rd of this March, there are buses with the pictures of Big Bang for Soribada running in Seoul.
The first event that Soribada held is the ‘album event’. When you download ‘Big Bang 5th Mini Album’ from the website, then you can automatically enter the event. 10 lucky fans will be able to get a signed album from this event.
The second event is a ‘bus event’. Since currently there are five buses with Big Bang’s pictures running in Seoul, 5 fans who take a photo with the buses and upload them to the website will be able to get the costumes that Big Bang has worn before.
