[NEWS] BIGBANG IS SELECTED AS THE BEST GROUP IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR
Online music website Soribada has added up the number of download and other statistics and announced Big Bang as the best group in the first half of the year 2011.
Big Bang has ranked at the top of the charts for three weeks in March and April with the songs “Tonight” and “Love Song.” Also, “What is right,” “Stupid Liar,” and “Somebody to love” were in the upper ranks of the chart.
Meanwhile, the best song in the first half of the year is f(x)’s “Danger.” The song ranked no. 1 in Soribada with its release and kept in top 10 for five weeks.
Solo singers also draw attention with their records.
The solo female singer IU’s “Good Day” was placed the second in the chart. The songs “Good Day” and “The Story Only I Didn’t Know” have ranked the first in weekly charts and KBS 2TV’s drama series Dream High’s soundtrack “Someday” and MBC’s The Best Love’s soundtrack “Take My Hand” also became a big hit.
On the other hand, the best solo male singer is Kim Bum Soo with his song “Please,” on the fourth in the chart. Kim’s other songs such as “Never Ending Story” and “With My Love” also ranked in top 10.

[NEWS] G-DRAGON & TOP WILL RE-RELEASE THEIR 1st ALBUM WITH A NEW COVER
Get ready to add another album to your collection, VIPs, because GD&TOP will re-release their first album with a brand new cover next month. YG Entertainment updated their fans on their decision to change GD&TOP’s logo on their official website with a news posting on June 29th.
The post reads:
“Hello. This is YG Entertainment.
We thank you all for supporting GD&TOP’s first album, which was released back on December 24th of last year.
GD&TOP’s logo, as stated before in many interviews, was designed combining a rabbit, in recognition of the year of the rabbit, and a fist holding up a V-sign that stands for victory.
It was based off of Playboy Enterprises International Inc.’s rabbit design logo.
However, our company didn’t receive permission from Playboy, who has trademark rights for their rabbit logo, and we’re not involved with Playboy in any shape or form.
Therefore, to prevent any confusion, we’ve accepted Playboy’s polite request and have decided to stop using GD&TOP’s rabbit logo.
We will suspend sales for GD&TOP’s album, and release a NEW COVER version starting in July.
Please show your love and support for the newly designed ‘GD&TOP First Album New Cover Ver.‘ (all songs will be the same).

MC: You’ve collaborated with BIGBANG SOL before right?
Thelma: SOL was the first overseas artist that I collaborated with. Artists in Korea are very stoic [disciplined]. They have a strong sense of professionalism. On the MV set, he kept on practicing and singing.
MC: Very devoted. What is the real (face) of SOL like?
Thelma: We filmed an MV together. That was the first time we spent a long time together. SOL is so shy.
MC: Yes?
Thelma: He is a shy boy so if we leave him alone, he is like this (she pretends to be SOL at 0:45)

Thelma: But when we talk with staff saying things like – yeah! he can enjoy saying/acting like …. So if we talk to him, he would be very pleased.

Thelma: At the concert and we went out and had a meal together.
MC: You guys are that close.
Thelma: Yeah.
