GD&TOP recently sat down for an insightful interview with SPN, which explored their concerns over their duo project, their anticipation for the Big Bang album, and their future plans.
As usual, the boys delivered honest answers when it came to questions about their achievements. “We worried since it’s been such a long time that we last released an album, but we even won on music programs. It’s so refreshing.”
BIGBANG fans can finally circle a date on their calendar, as YG Entertainment has revealed that the group will drop their new album on February 24th!
Representatives of YG Entertainment explained, “After nearly two years, they’ll finally be releasing a new album on February 24th. Details such as the number of tracks or the album’s tracklist have yet to be decided. BIGBANG will be holding their first comeback stage not through publicly-broadcasted music programs, but at their own ‘2011 BIG SHOW‘ concerts on February 25th through 27th.”
Earlier, we reported that GD&TOP’s “Don’t Go Home” track was banned from MBC for being ‘unfit for public broadcast.’
YG Entertainment officials re-submitted the song for another evaluation, arguing that it had KBS and SBS’s regulations. Unfortunately, MBC stick with their decision, and banned the song again on January 12th.
The reason given by MBC was that the lyrics, especially T.O.P’s rap, was too sexually suggestive for broadcast.
T.O.P’s lyrics state:
“I don’t like awkward settings
Why is the sound of the clock ticking so loud?
All I can hear is the sound of swallowing spit
Look baby, all I want is to greet the morning with you
A secret party for just us two before the night comes to an end
But you’re like Cinderella, you try to go home when the clock hits 12
Being alone makes the night so long
Call in to your parents, don’t try to act tough
S.O.S, advancing seems so far
Oh! wait a minute, why am I like this?
Am I drunk, I’m so dizzy, I’m falling asleep.”
Regarding the ban, G-Dragon stated in an interview, “As opposed to feeling a loss of strength, we’re just disappointed that such unfortunate results were met despite our best efforts. We’re upset in not being able to show a better stage because of the broadcast regulations. It’s unfortunate that they won’t accept it.”
Infinite Challenge parodies Big Bang and Secret Garden. At 11th January, in its community site, the photographs of Secret Garden’s casts and Big Bang’s member have attracted much attention.
BIGBANG's leader G-Dragon was excited when he talked about their new album which is going to be released. The 5-member idol group BIGBANG will come back to Korea music industry in February with a brand new album. After the album released in November, 2008, it has been 2 years and 3 months that they restart their group activities.
When G-Dragon was meeting the reporter of Star News and he said they have already entered the final stage of production of their CD and they are making use of their spare time to put finishing touches to the CD.
G-Dragon further elaborated , "because we know it is our music that our fans like most but not the dance; therefore, at this time, we are making music which can attract people of all ages and they are comfortable too." G-Dragon said that their new album will tend to contain more Rock songs and BIGBANG will access various kinds of music as well.
In the new album, we can expect to find out songs sung by all five of them instead of their solos or duets. And they will be focusing on the domestics activities in this year with a view of meeting more local friends through a variety of activities.
Before BIGBANG comes back, the members have been active in different units. G-Dragon and Hip-Hop rapper released their album last month and then they have been carrying our the promotion together. On 20th, Seungri will release his digital single and start his solo activities.

As the representative models forthe LG Optimus 2X smartphone, Big Bang’s G-Dragon and T.O.P first revealed their teaser for the “Knock Out” MV,while simultaneously promoting LG’s newest product. Recently, an interesting behind-the-scenes video was revealed which focused on the ‘making-of’ for the “Knock Out” MV, as well as interesting snippets of how the LG Optimus 2X phone could be used.
In both the teaser and the full music video, viewers have only been able to catch glimpses of the LG Optimus 2X, but in this latest video, they’ll be able to see the product more as both GD&TOP are shown personally playing around with it. The capabilities of the product are shared, and it’s certainly successful in drawing interest to the item.
G-Dragon: ”Hi, nice to meet you. It’s been awhile since, but we’ve returned with good news. Which is…?”
Taeyang: ”Yes, we’re inviting you all to our 2011 BIG SHOW in which we will also be in which we will also be releasing our new album.”
Seungri: ”BIG SHOW!”
T.O.P: ”This 2011 BIG SHOW is special, the reason being because we will be breaking the long period of over 2 years, we’ll be revealing our new album’s songs.”
Daesung: ”Yes, that’s true. As much as you’ve all been waiting for this album we have prepared a variety of music and performances so please look forward to it.”
Seungri: “Yes, the 2011 BIG SHOW will be on February 25th at 8PM, February 26th at 6PM, and February 27th at 6PM at the Olympic Stadium, and we can meet you all there!”
G-Dragon: “Yes, and on January 18th, 19th, and 20th, you can purchase tickets through Gmarket. I hope you are all successful in buying tickets so you can come join Big Bang for a good time.”
After choosing “Don’t Go Home” and “Baby Good Night” as their follow-up promotion tracks, the duo of GD&TOP have made a romantic transformation for their two music videos.
On January 11th, Star News was able to report from the scene of their film set and revealed that G-Dragon took the leading role for “Don’t Go Home,” while T.O.P took the leading role for “Baby Good Night.”
The two music videos, directed by Lee Kibaek of G-Dragon’s “Boy,” will have connecting story lines featuring a romantic proposal.
The members of BIGBANG , GD&TOP made an appearance on the January 10th episode of SBS’s “Night After Night“, and covered a variety of topics ranging from their pre-debut to working as Big Bang.
MC Tak Jae Hoon began by asking G-Dragon, “I heard that ‘Lie‘ was actually your solo track, but they decided to change it to Big Bang’s title song. They said you got so jealous, you cried.”
G-Dragon answered, “I was honestly disappointed. It took a long time to complete it, and then our CEO said that the song was for Big Bang. I was young at the time, so it hurt. I’m not upset about it anymore.”
GD&TOP, Big Bang’s highly anticipated sub-unit, has accrued incredible success with their debut album, “GD & TOP.”
Applauded for its clever synergy of various genres and styles, G-Dragon and T.O.P have decided to flip their work on its head and deliver a-capella versions of their tracks.
Stripping all the bells and whistles from their production, fans will get to hear crisp vocals and raps from both the duo and guest vocalist, Park Bom.
It’s not quite clear if they plan on releasing a physical copy of their a-capellas, but fans can purchase each track individually from the official YG music site.
