[MADE③] M vs A vs D vs E = BIGBANG, the Exclusive Party

BIGBANG is known for topping charts immediately after their comeback and staying that way for a long period of time. The MADE Project that kicked off in May has been going on for four consecutive months, practically doing the so-called “all-kill” on charts. They are known of being the most powerful boy band while also being loved by the general public. Apart from the tracks as BIGBANG as a whole, solo or unit songs by GD, TAEYANG and T.O.P easily top charts as well.

Expectations for their tracks are simply incredible, and their comeback becomes the hot news all over the world. Their popularity is borderless, and their MADE Project was more than enough to prove it. “LOSER”, “BANG BANG BANG” and “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” even topped America’s World Digital Songs chart.

From May to August, it was indeed BIGBANG’s exclusive party. For the last four months, two tracks were unveiled every month, which basically topped all charts and music programs.

From May, it was “LOSER” and “BAE BAE” on Album M, “BANG BANG BANG” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” in Album A, “SOBER” and “IF YOU” on album D and “ZUTTER” and “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” in Album E.

BIGBANG was actually in a battle against themselves. The two songs unveiled every month were the rivals, and in the following months, the two new songs started competing against the previous two. And the trend continued on for four months.

For four months in a row, BIGBANG practically swept across all charts and music programs. Many artists tried to avoid releasing their albums at the same time. Their equation of “comeback = #1” follows their name BIGBANG, but no one would have known that this can go on for four months.

“LOSER” was the one that won them the highest number of trophies. It won them the first trophy on MBC’s “Show! Music Center” on May 9, and up to 10 on SBS’s “Inkigayo” on May 24.

“BANG BANG BANG” in June took 4 trophies, including the one on Mnet’s M Countdown on June 11. It was similar in July, with 3 trophies for “SOBER” and again for “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE.” “ZUTTER” was a surprise #1 on Aug 20 on M Countdown.

They took a total of 23 trophies from May to August. They unveiled two tracks every month, and both songs topped charts. Their rivals changed every month, but their position stayed the same throughout.

Their biggest rival was themselves. Their challenge was to do more than what they have already done in the previous month. And now their final “full” album will be unveiled in September. 2015 is truly their year.
