[NEWS] “Return of the King,” “Upgraded 5 Times,” How Foreign Media Welcomes BIGBANG

Foreign media outlets spared no praise for the return of BIGBANG, saying “Return of the King” and “upgraded by over five-fold.”

On May 1st, various foreign media outlets, including the Billboard and FUSE TV of the U.S., competitively reported favorably about the return of the united BIGBANG in three years as well as their new songs ‘Loser’ and ‘Bae Bae.’

The Billboard reported that “BIGBANG who returned to the K-Pop scene after nearly three years is looking five times as nice, and as regards to ‘Loser,’ it said “it appeals to BIGBANG’s melancholy R&B and hip-hop tendencies. It comes with a slow tempo, but a head-banging beat.” As for ‘Bae Bae,’ it said that it is a “trendy trap track.”

FUSE TV dedicated much time on BIGBANG, and poited out eight reasons to pay attention to BIGBANG. FUSE TV reported that the “first single ‘Loser’ is excellent” and that “this song details on feelings through words like loser and coward, and it is reminiscent of ‘Bad Boy,’ a track in BIGBANG’s 2012 album that went on the 2012 Billboard 200 Chart.”

Moreover, it presented the second reason by saying that “’Loser’ is doing well on iTunes” and that “this song ranks 40th on the U.S. iTunes chart, recording the highest rank as a Korean song. Currently, this song is ranked higher than Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Truffle Butter’, so we wonder if they will land themselves on the Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart,” anticipating BIGBANG’s name on the Billboard chart.

Furthermore, FUSE TV explained the story of the music video of ‘Loser’ and compares its emotional flow to a roller coaster ride, pegging that as the third reason. Also, the fourth reason was that this music video recorded over 4.4 million views in just two days after its release, which number is still rising. Moreover, the fifth reason was that the second single ‘Bae Bae’ was as good as ‘Loser,’ and reported the aesthetic code as well as the sensual and sexy appeal of the ‘Bae Bae’ music video.

Then, the seventh reason was that BIGBANG plans to continue releasing singles, and it expressed its affection for BIGBANG as it presented the eighth reason: BIGBANG will hold their World Tour to meet fans in Asia, the Americas, and other regions.

Blasting News also featured BIGBANG’s comeback. It reported that “the king has returned” and that “the songs are tremendously upgraded. Overseas fans are learning Korean for BIGBANG.”

Meanwhile, BIGBANG’s ‘Loser’ and ‘Bae Bae’ swept the top two ranks in the real-time music charts for Korea’s nine major online music services including Melon, the greatest online music site in Korea, along with Bugs and Mnet, as of 9:30 A.M. on May 2nd (KST). Moreover, the music video for ‘Loser’ recorded 5.893,400 hits and the video for ‘Bae Bae’ recorded 4.257,254 hits on Youtube, exceeding a combined number of 10 million hits.
