[NEWS] “Perfect Time to Become a Fan”: U.S. Media Outlets Featuring BIGBANG

BIGBANG is getting the attention from foreign media outlets.

On May 1st (local U.S. time), FUSE TV pointed out eight reasons to pay attention to BIGBANG’s comeback, reporting that “K-Pop phenoms return with two fantastic new singles and music videos, making it the perfect time to become a fan.”

FUSE TV reported that “their new single ‘Loser’ is excellent” and that “the song details feelings by using words like loser and coward. It is reminiscent of the tracks in BIGBANG’s 2012 album ‘Bad Boy,’ pegging that has the first reason to pay attention to BIGBANG.

As the second reason, it said “’Loser’ is doing well on iTunes,” and that “’Loser’ ranked 40th on the U.S. iTunes chart, which is the highest ranking from a Korean song. And it is higher up on the chart than Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Truffle Butter,’ making us wonder if BIGBANG could land themselves on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.”

Then, FUSE TV explains the story in the music video for ‘Loser’ and compares the emotional flow of the music video as a roller coaster ride, making that the third reason. And as the fourth, it reported that the music video recorded more than 4.4 million hits in just two days after its release, and that the phenomenon is continuing. Also, as the fifth reason, it reported that the second single ‘Bae Bae’ is just as good as ‘Loser,’ and as the sixth, it mentions the aesthetic code in the music video for ‘Bae Bae’ as well as its sensual and sexy appeal.

Furthermore, it showed its affection for BIGBANG by pointing out the seventh reason was that BIGBANG plans to continue releasing singles, and the eighth reason was that BIGBANG is holding a World Tour where they will meet fans in Asia, the Americas, and other regions.

On the same day (May 1st), the U.S. Billboard also highlighted BIGBANG’s comeback, mentioning their music video. The Billboard reported that the music video for ‘Loser’ is “at the height of emotional and sexy appeal. It is heavier and deeper than their ‘Bad Boy’ music video.” Also, regarding ‘Bae Bae,’ it said “it is the sexiest of BIGBANG and other K-Pop male groups we’ve seen so far,” praising the magnetism of the two videos.

On the other hand, BIGBANG’s ‘Loser’ and ‘Bae Bae’ swept the 1st and 2nd places in the real-time music charts of nine Korean music service sites, including Korea’s biggest music service, Melon, along with Bugs and Mnet. Moreover, the music video of ‘Loser’ recorded 5,893,400 hits and ‘Bae Bae’ recorded 4,257,354 hits on Youtube, exceeding the combined number of hits of 10 million.
