[NEWS] Chinese Fans Go Crazy Over BIGBANG’s New Album, Which Is Already Rocking the Korean Digital Singles Charts


The come-back of BIGBANG, the most representative idol group of Korea, is not only enthralling Korean fans but also the fans all over the world. In particular, their new album has totally captured the hearts of Chinese fans.

BIGBANG’s agency, YG Entertainment, announced on May 1 that BIGBANG’s new single ‘LOSER’ ‘ and ‘BAE BAE’ have ranked first and second place in the K-pop category of the QQ Music Chart, the largest digital singles charts in China. The number of downloads posted 11,000 and is on a steady rise.

YG Entertainment also stated, “The top 4 of the most searched words on Weibo are all related to BIGBANG such as ‘LOSER’, ‘BAE BAE’, and ‘MADE’. This shows that their new album has become a big hit in China.”

The music video of ‘LOSER’ was played more than four million times and the music video of ‘BAE BAE’ surpassed three million views on China’s Youku, QQ Music, and Yinyuetai.

YG Entertainment also said, “Matching the huge popularity of BIGBANG’s new album, more than 80 BIGBANG-related news articles were uploaded in China. This shows that BIGBANG is gaining a lot of attention from the Chinese media.” They added, “The Chinese fans are praising BIGBANG’s new album posting comments such as ‘playing BIGBANG’s new album over and over’, ‘a new side of BIGBANG’, and ‘BIGBANG never disappoints me’.“

Meanwhile, on May 1 at 12 AM(local time), BIGBANG officially released the sound tracks of their digital album ‘M’ – the first album of their ‘MADE’ album series – on various online music sites in and out of Korea and iTunes. ‘LOSER’ and ‘BAE BAE’ are among such released sound tracks.

It has been three years since all the members of BIGBANG have come together. Their new singles ‘LOSER’ and ‘BAE BAE’ have topped Korea’s major music charts such as Melon, Mnet, Olleh Music, Genie, Bugs, Soribada, Monkey3, Naver Music, Daum Music, and Cyworld Music right after their release.

In the afternoon of May 1, ‘LOSER’ also became No.1 on the iTunes Top Singles Songs Chart in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam. BIGBANG’s album ‘M’ topped the iTunes Top Albums Chart in Romania. The fact that BIGBANG’s ‘LOSER’ and ‘M’ topped the singles and albums charts of not only Korea but also around the world shows that BIGBANG is
indeed the most iconic boy band of Korea.

BIGBANG will release a new single album that contains at least one track every month until August 1. The compilation of these single albums – ‘MADE’ – will be released on September 1.

BIGBANG successfully held concerts on April 25 and 26, and they will go on a world tour performing in 15 countries in Asia and America. The world tour is consisted of 70 concerts and is expected to draw more than 1.4 million
