[NEWS] Big Bang talks about their new song “Monster” + new contest

Hyundai Card and YG Entertainment held a press conference in Seoul on June 5th to talk about Big Bang’s rebranding project.

Big Bang member G-Dragon who was present at the event talked about their new song “Monster” saying, “This new song will remind you of Big Bang’s “Lies” and “Haru Haru” , rather than give you a look at a new and different Big Bang. A lot of things are similar, such as T.O.P and I taking turns rapping towards the beginning.”

“For “Monster”, we paid the most attention to the visual effects, and through our collaboration with Hyundai Card, we created a quality MV that’s on par with a Hollywood Blockbuster,” G-Dragon continued. “I’m wearing horns, Taeyang took on an unconventional hair style change… all of us scrambled to throw out ideas in order to create the most monster-like appearances.”

In regards to their project with Hyundai Card, he remarked, “A lot of Indie bands are reinterpreting our song “Monster”, and so we will be holding a contest. YG has plans to produce a single album for the winner of the project, and if they would like, they will also be able to collaborate with us.”

Rapper T.O.P added, “Other than the Re-Monster project, we have no other specific collaboration plans, however both companies are famous for attempting new things so I think any direction we take will be good.”

Big Bang’s maknae Seungri also remarked, “In the past, Hyundai Card had invited us when they held performances by famous artists from overseas. Through our collaboration with Hyundai Card, we hope to host high-scale performances as well.”
